• Identifies and analyzes key issues, develops strategies, and advises Commander and senior leadership on recommended courses of action on a broad variety of topics related to MAJCOM, NAF, FOA or DRU functions. 1. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the JPPSO, ensuring all functional work areas comply with legal and regulatory guidance in meeting customer requirements.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To serve the Chief, Joint Concepts Branch in the Strategy, Policy, and Doctrine Division at NORAD and USNORTHCOM, with the full scope of authority and responsibility for directing the activities of the branch. Leads and supervises the development and review of joint concepts policy, command strategy, and exercises as part of an integrated team (US and Canadian military, civil service and contractors) engaged in reviewing, drafting and updating command strategy, concepts, and policy as it pertains to the conduct of NORAD and USNORTHCOM missions as well as related issues for the United States. Additionally, the employee will work as an action officer (military support specialist) and coordinate with senior staff counterparts in the Joint Staff, OSD, other U.S. Government Agencies, the Interagency community, and Combatant Commands regarding strategy, policy and command relationship development and refinement that impact NORAD and USNORTHCOM.

DUTIES:
