Braeburn Court is located in St Margaret’s Hope and offers a Housing Support and Care at Home Service to older persons who are supported and enabled to live independently and manage their own tenancies.

We are seeking to recruit dynamic and innovative team players who are highly motivated towards providing a high quality service underpinned by a re-ablement ethos.

The service is seeking to recruit motivated people with organisational, communication and supervisory skills, who will be responsible for the day to day running of the service and will report to the Registered Manager and assist them to ensure that the requirements of the Health and Social Care standards and the Care Inspectorate are achieved.

You must be able to demonstrate that you have a commitment, knowledge and experience of supporting older people, a strong sense of professionalism, sound knowledge of supporting the development of outcome focussed support plans, risk assessments and on-going co-ordination of high quality support packages, under pinned by a re-ablement approach. You will be able to deliver the required supervision and support to staff to ensure that they are competent and able to support individuals to achieve their personal outcomes. You should be adaptable and able to work flexibly with a capacity to work under pressure.

Applicants will hold a practice qualification that meets the SSSC registration requirements as a Supervisor in a Care at Home Service i.e. HNC in Health and Social Care or SVQ3 (SCQF7) in Health and Social Care AND a Supervisory qualification that where this is not held, there is a requirement to achieve this within 5 years of appointment.

You are required to register with the SSSC as a Supervisor in a care at home service within the first 6 months of taking up post.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

• The incumbent carries out required performance of this position as transportation program support assistant Guest Relations Program to the Office of Veteran Experience. The program is designed to provide Veterans/patients, their families and visitors with staff who can respond quickly to inquiries, identify problems, and improve the experience of those visiting the campus. The services are designed to respond to customer immediate needs including navigation, direction, and information assistance.
• As a key challenge of patients, navigating the campus will be a primary focus along with providing a positive first impression. For those who do not know how to access medical center programs and/or services, personal assistance will be provided by the staff. The incumbent serves as the initial, as well as the final point of contact for guests entering and leaving the facility and is a key influence toward patient/public perception. The incumbent is assigned to the Office of Veteran Experience and Employee Engagement.

• Conduct regularly scheduled Preventative Search and Rescue (PSAR) patrols of various park resources such as backcountry and/or wilderness areas, park trails, campgrounds, parking lots, shorelines, rivers, docks, roads, concessions, etc. in accordance with well-established procedures and precedents.
• While on patrol, provide visitors with information and education to ensure their safety, obtain their cooperation, and facilitate safe visitor use of park resources.
