The Supervisory Program Specialist (Assistant Chief/Business Manager), is responsible for a wide range of administrative functions including Decision Support-Systems (RES), budget management, resource allocation, Health Information Management, Veteran benefits and eligibility for Community Care (CC), workload data management, customer service and vendor relations for claims processing and the establishment of a community care network across all VASNHCS.
Major duties include but not limited to:
- Formulates and issues policies relating to the broad area of patient administration which provides a basis for sound administrative practices, define responsibilities for carrying out specific functions, provides recognized authority consistent with applicable law under which action taken to minimize the possibility of unauthorized action or unfavorable criticism, and facilitates decisions to promote consistency of interpretation and application across organizational lines.
- Provides accurate and routine data analyses and evaluations.
- Applies Veterans Health Administration laws relating to the determination of eligibility for both inpatient and outpatient related services and benefits.
- Investigates and develops facts, conclusions, and recommendations in those matters requiring investigations that come within the jurisdiction of the facility.
- Review's patient administration and patient care functions to identify areas where studies should be made and initiates management improvement surveys by staff and operation personnel.
- Provides comprehensive analysis and reports on program accomplishments to include evaluation of effectiveness of station operations and work performance to assist management in planning and decision making.
- Prepares and/or reviews and evaluates financial analysis, summaries, recurring or non-recurring reports which keep management advised of the current financial situation in the Medical Center.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Subject to change to meet the needs of the Agency
