DATA CONVERSION OPERATIONS

The following are the duties of this position at the full working level.

• Distributes and balances the workload among employees in accordance with established work flow or job specialization, assures timely accomplishment of the assigned workload, and assures that each employee has enough work to keep busy.
• Keeps in touch with the status and progress of work, and makes adjustments in accordance with established priorities, obtaining assistance from the supervisor on problems that may arise.

• Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials and supplies.

• Maintains current knowledge and answer questions of other employees on procedures, policies, directives, etc. and obtains needed information or decisions from supervisor on problems that come up.

This position is located in the Gulf Restoration Office (GRO). The objective/mission of the GRO is to work together with State and Federal agencies, and the public to plan and implement restoration strategies to return injured natural resources to the conditions that existed prior to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The Service has an unparalleled responsibility to the DOI, the Gulf states, our partners and the American public for managing an unprecedented settlement to be used in restoring the Gulf of Mexico. This position serves as a Biologist for the GRO. The incumbent will work with state, federal, and other organizational partners on federal and non-federal lands to propose, develop, implement, monitor, and adaptively manage restoration projects. The position will work with multiple USFWS programs across Regional boundaries, wherever projects are implemented.

As a Biologist your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

• Identify resource or environmental problems affecting protection of wildlife habitats (e.g., plant ecology, soil science, restoration ecology, land management/conservation, fire ecology, etc.) and apply principles of landscape-level conservation biology as it relates to large-scale restoration programs to provide recommendations to agencies on projects affecting migratory birds, threatened and endangered species, or other Federal trust resources.
• Design, plan, and work with partners (internal and external) to conduct conventional investigations, assessments or inspections involving a full range of biological, chemical, and physical processes involving pre-and post restoration conditions of lands and environments.
• Reviews and/or prepares work plans, budgets, program accomplishment reports, and technical reports of findings, conclusions, and/or recommendations regarding appropriate courses of action, such as management approval/disapproval, offering alternative projects or approaches, or taking remedial action.
• Work as a team member to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including biologists, solicitors, and natural resource specialists within and outside the federal government.
• Communicate scientific concepts and agency polices with clarity and logic to a variety of audiences, including external audiences and diverse audiences. Communicate technical and non-technical information to a broad range of individuals, groups, and organizations.

• Presents interpretive and education programs.
• Greet visitors, provide information, give formal and informal presentations, and direction.
• Independently operates a visitor center and advise visitors of the regulations governing visitation to the sites and the need to protect resources.
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting the condition of the park resources, working closely with interpretive closely with interpretive colleagues, other divisions, and ensuring the safety of visitors, employees and the public.

Evaluates patients, plans, establishes and executes a full range of treatment procedures designed to restore homeostasis to the individual patient or to enhance the adaptive capacities through the use of physical measures, exercises, manual techniques, activities, prostheses or assistive devices. Provides home programs as appropriate and involves significant others in this process. Physical Therapist may also conduct teaching activities for PT students.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Receives the patient's referral from an appropriate physician or primary care provider and schedules the patient for evaluation and treatment in a timely fashion.
• Responsible for sole PT participation in the Patient Multidisciplinary Treatment Team.
• demonstrate skills in performing examinations and evaluations of individuals who have or may develop impairments, activity limitations, and participation restrictions related to conditions of the musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and/or integumentary systems while considering the effects attributable to unique psychosocial and environmental factors.
• Independently utilizes evaluation data to implement comprehensive patient treatment plans, involving patient/family/caregiver/Home Based Primary Care (HBPC) staff in goal-setting process if feasible.
• Independently modifies treatment plan and treat patients according to evaluative findings on an on-going basis to better meet short and long-term goals.
• Recognizes adverse reaction to treatment and initiates effective action immediately.
