The Medical Support Assistant (MSA) position works in Health Administration Service at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center, Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS), New Orleans, Louisiana. As a Biological Science Technician your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assists in planning and execution of wildlife studies, censuses and surveys such as establishing schedules and procedures for accomplishing and reporting the work. Monitors and implement activities related to conservation, management, and/or control of wildlife. Captures, applies visual and radio tags, and gathers physiological and spatial data on wildlife.
• Assists in planning plants surveys and recommends plant management practices. Monitors and assists in control plant disease outbreaks, pest plant control, mowing/seeding activities and vegetation removal.
• Collects, assesses, and organizes biological and physical environment data from field investigations and reports findings to determine actual and potential impact on fish, wildlife or plant resources from development projects, restoration projects or habitat improvement projects.

Care Assistant - Fairfield Manor Care Home, Fairfield, Hitchin, Bedfordshire Part of The Country Court Family
Hours: Days, 44 Hours per week, working weekends on rota (Shift times 08:00-20:00)Fairfield Manor Care Home is located in Fairfield near Hitchin and has 75 bedrooms. The dedicated team offer round the clock support, making life enjoyable and comfortable for the residents.

ABOUT THE CARE ASSISTANT ROLE
Within the Care Assistant role, you can really make a difference to our residents’ lives. Your responsibilities will include:

Helping our residents with personal support and care
Aiding their emotional well-being and social needs
Supporting residents at meals time
Interacting with our residents on a personal level
Maintaining and developing the residents care plan to ensure their needs are met

ABOUT YOU
Our fantastic staff are at the heart of our homes & provide vital day-to-day support to our residents, so we would love to hear from those who really do want to make a difference to people’s lives.

Be no stranger to working long shifts
Have good written & verbal communication skills
Able to engage well with the residents and their families
Have an understanding of people with Dementia.
Experience as a Care Assistant is preferred but not essential
Have an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social care or be willing to work towards this.
