Use knowledge and troubleshooting skills to deal effectively with problems that may arise within the Emergency and Acute Medicine team.2. Ensure that work is appropriately prioritised and managed, providing support, advice and guidanceas and when required.3. Attend/represent the department at relevant meetings as and when required.4. Receives, opens and processes all mail.5. Carries out typing duties associated with management correspondence, reports, statistics and other official correspondence and related clerical work.6. Organises and maintains the Emergency and Acute Medicine team diaries.7. Makes and takes telephone calls from patients, relatives, other internal colleagues and GeneralPractitioners and take appropriate action.8. Takes minutes/maintains action logs at any Directorate meetings as required.9. Liaises with appropriate departments/hospitals in arranging external meetings/conference calls as directed.10. Receive oral complaints, ensuring complaints procedure is adhered to collating and safe-guarding all records and correspondence related to this.11. If required, assists staff in the collation and typing of details for projects and lectures consistent with clinical/service needs.12. Refer urgent enquiries to appropriate member of management team.13. Provides the Clinical team with necessary papers and appropriate files for MDT discussions.14. Ensures all secretarial and office equipment used in department is maintained in good working order and arrangements for appropriate maintenance/repair work/replacement to be carried out.15. Plan and prioritise own workload.16. Providing general clerical and administrative duties to the department including photocopying and scanning when required.
