We are looking for a Food Service Manager for The Highland Soap Visitor Centre & Larder Caf in Fort William. This is a new position in the company, designed to strengthen the management team. Salary will be dependent on experience but will be respectable.

The Highland Soap Visitor Centre & Larder Cafe has been a fantastic success since we opened it in December 2020. We have a large shop, which has recently doubled in size with room to double again. Our cafe has 110 covers and an outdoor events space - and all set in 6 acres of grounds with views over Ben Nevis in what is undoubtably the area’s best located tourist destination.

We are a friendly, locally-owned business with a good local reputation and a strong tourist trade. We make good quality food out of local ingredients and are increasingly becoming known nationally as a wonderful day out for a family. Opening hours are mostly 9am-5pm, 7 days though we have an ambition to do evenings in the summer. Operationally, the site is running smoothly with a strong team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate effectively cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Category Management, Finance, and Business Analytics, with regular engagement to ensure strategic insights and secondary research data inform their business plans, strategies and selling stories.

• Provide expertise, coaching, and training to cross-functional partners on how to effectively gather and interpret information from primary and secondary information sources for consumer, shopper and eye care professional insights.

• Manage brand health tracking, advertising testing, packaging testing, and brand perception KPI strategy for OTC brands.

• Design custom primary research to answer specific prioritized business questions.

• Manage onsite Circana/IRI contractors, including prioritizing efforts to support the information and analytics needs of the Alcon user community, particularly the insights needs of the OTC Brand team.

• Lead advanced market research projects such as Marketing Mix, Consumer/Customer Segmentation, Price Elasticity, SKU/Assortment Optimization, Matched Market and Market Structure.

• Manage secondary and primary research budgets and contracts for OTC brands and oversee vendor relationships, training, reporting systems, tools and insight development. 

• Collaborate with global marketing peers to drive strong strategic alignment on consumer and HCP insights.

• Consult with / guide Sr. Leadership in development of key presentations, such as QBR, Integrated Business Planning, Target Submission, Annual Budgeting, New Product Planning

The CLDP program at Alcon is seeking 2024 (Graduate degree level) Summer interns.  Interns will work on key Commercial projects.  This internship is in our Vision Care Franchise. The Vision Care Over the Counter (OTC) Marketing team is responsible for developing and cascading the overarching vision, objectives, strategies and executional plan for the OTC portfolio of products which includes Dry Eye Relief Drops, Eye Allergy Itch Relief Drops, and Contact Lens Care. As a part of this responsibility, we partner with Consumer Insights & Analytics, Retail Sales, Finance, Operations, R&D, Global, and Agency Partners to drive strong growth plans, inclusive of a robust innovation pipeline and compelling creative campaigns. Our portfolio generated over $825M in retail sales in 2023, up significantly over 2022, with aggress growth goals in 2024 and beyond. In short, OTC Marketing professionals are the General Managers of a large and growing portfolio of brands that truly help our consumers Live and See Brilliantly.

 
Experiential Learning Opportunity/Project Description:

As a Summer Intern supporting OTC, you will be trusted to lead a cross-functional team to assess and make recommendations to senior leadership related to innovation and competitive defense strategies and opportunities. In this role, you will:

• Deep dive into large, adjacent OTC Eyecare categories in which Alcon either does not participate or has historically deprioritized to assess potential innovation pathways.
• Partner with our shopper, trade, and media partners to understand how competitors operate in these adjacent categories.
• Partner with Insights, Circana (formerly IRI), Marketing, Finance, and others to gain insights and develop category analysis.
• Build a business case to be presented to Sr. Leadership and Global partners, showcasing the size of opportunity and resources needed to develop and execute against the opportunity.
• Assist the Allergy Sr. Brand Manager and Shopper Marketer in developing strategies, activation plans, and creative assets, designed to defend against new competitive entrants

Location: Internship will be located at our US headquarters in Fort Worth, TX.   

After successful completion of a CLDP Summer internship at Alcon, interns may apply to be considered for participation in the Commercial Leadership Development Program full-time.  Commercial Leadership Development Program (CLDP) at Alcon is a key pipeline for graduate degree talent with ambition to advance into leadership positions within Alcon Commercial functions.  Exceptional individuals chosen for this highly selective and challenging program engage in tailored rotational experiences towards a leadership career path.  Members will engage in three, year-long rotations.  Rotations will include a Commercial Foundational rotation (Business Analytics, S&OP and Commercial Operations), a Marketing rotation, and a Sales rotation.  Program benefits will include: Mentor Program, Functional Programming, Networking Events, Tailored Development, and Executive Presentations on key learnings and outcomes of rotations.   

  

Minimum Qualifications: 

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to the internship, and at least one additional semester following your internship.

• Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0 
• Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects) 
• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

Job Overview:

The new Manager, Service Center will manage 10 - 15 staff in LPL Financial New Advisor Care Team. New Advisor Care is the first point of contact for LPL Financial Advisors who have inquiries related to accounts that converted over from their previous broker/dealer firm.  The Manager position will oversee staff on the New Advisor Care Team.  The ideal candidate would have experience managing an Advisor Support call center team.
 

Responsibilities:

• Handle Financial Advisor immediate escalations needing management contact and advanced support issues.
• Monitor, coach, set performance goals, and motivate staff. Help frontline agents with questions from advisors and office staff.
• Assist in the training process of support staff.
• Track their training progress and decide when they have reached milestones to move them to the next level of training.
• Administrative management duties: timecard approvals, interviews, review time off requests, track attendance, etc.
• Conduct daily huddles via WebEx to ensure consistent communication wit

• Embrace advisor feedback and seek to identify ways to improve advisor experience
• Regularly exercise discretion and business judgment
• Provide superior customer service to large base of financial advisors by handling incoming phone calls when needed including escalations.
• Ensure staff are adhering to assigned shifts and completing work in a timely manner
