A day in the life of a Senior Support Worker with Priority Childcare involves:

- Providing leadership to less experienced staff to ensure the development of best resident care practice and optimal outcomes for the children;
- Improving the quality of life of the children who live in the home including preparing healthy meals;
- Promoting the rights of the children to be treated with dignity and respect in every aspect of their lives;
- Establishing supportive relationships with the children and encourage the development of stable relationships between the children and other staff, and their families and friends;
- Ensuring that all care plans, key-working files and care files are updated and accurate and maintained;
- Supporting the staff team in their role of key-worker and facilitate training as required;
- Ensuring the protection of resident students from significant harm, by exercising vigilance, observing changes in the children’s behaviour or appearance.

What you will do to be successful in this role

• Perform programming & application support relevant to database technologies and systems integration for supported environments
• Act as a technical escalation point and provide Level 2 customer support. You will bring in an experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems
• Oversee, respond to, and report on environmental metrics (both application and platform) in alignment with established customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) pertaining to availability, performance, and capacity
• Join the on-call support team to address incidents that occur outside regular working hours and during public holidays.
• You will have a solid background in Database Administration, particularly with Informix Server or MS SQL Server
• Hands-on experience in maintaining Informix and 4GL solutions

• You are proficient in shell scripting languages (Perl, Python, PowerShell) along with application development, debugging, and troubleshooting expertise. Demonstrated ability to implement operational automation through scripts.
• You are very skilled in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), leveraging native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. You also have a strong understanding of indexes, index management, and statistics
• You will have familiarity with Linux Server environments (SuSE, RedHat) platforms

• Collaborate with third-party vendors, contractors, and service providers to resolve complex IT issues and implement system upgrades
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, such as project managers and department heads, to understand their technical requirements and provide appropriate IT support.

Requirements:

• Proven experience (7+ years) in IT support roles, with a focus on troubleshooting complex issues.
• Strong knowledge of networking principles, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and hardware components.
• Proficiency in Citrix
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting software applications, including Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, antivirus software, and other commonly used tools.
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices for incident management, problem management, and change management.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical individuals.
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
