Job Summary
This is an exciting time for Babington as we evolve our Customer Engagement strategy and structure to ensure we’re in the best shape for the future. This position will prioritise your focus on three main areas:
You’ll work closely with the Head of Customer Engagement and the wider Customer Engagement team, focusing on developing Babington’s existing relationships and identifying, engaging and winning new business opportunities to ensure our continued growth.
As such you’ll be an experienced sales professional / account manager who understands and holds funded learning experience and has previous tenure operating in this sector in a sales and partnership capacity. You will be aligned to one of our 4 market verticals: Public Sector / Financial Services / Tech Media and Telco / FMCG & Logistics.
Required Responsibilities
Account Management: You will be responsible for account growth through repeat business and/or new programmes and services and have the depth of experience and sector knowledge to build a robust pipeline of activity.
Networking: You will identify opportunities for Babington to participate in industry events, conferences and networking opportunities and develop your relationships with industry peers and prospective customers developing your profile as a subject matter expert both internally and externally.
Proposal Development: You will be responsible for engaging and collaborating in extensive discussions with customers to understand their pain points and desired outcomes, gathering relevant information to ensure all Babington proposals address key customer requirements, align with their expectations and resolve any issues which may prevent successful delivery.
Market Analysis: You will be accountable for conducting market research to identify prospective customers, new business opportunities, understand market trends and develop a deep understanding of the funded learning and apprenticeship / competitor landscape.
Skills & Experience
Demonstrable experience of consistently meeting or exceeding targets & KPI's over a 0-12 month period.
Minimum of 3 years proven experience and exposure building robust relationships and will be responsible for transitioning this experience to allow you to become our customers ‘trusted advisor.’
Minimum 2 years experience of working with customers within the relevant industry, to provide suitable and relevant solutions.
Minimum of 12 months’ proven experience managing customer accounts, with the responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction.
A good understanding of the UK apprenticeship landscape, including funding, standards, and regulatory requirements. You will be able to demonstrate your previous proven experience supporting customers to implement apprenticeships, within one of Babington’s 4 vertical markets.
Proficient in using a CRM package to record and manage all customer interactions and sales activities.
We are a national business and so are most of our customers. You’ll have a full driving licence and be comfortable spending 2 - 4 days a week traveling to spend time with customers.
