If so, we are looking for an experienced carer to help lead a team of staff and provide care and support to individuals at our Bradford Personalised Services. We support people within their sole or shared tenancy, offering support over a 24 hour period including sleep in or waking night. We offer personalised care and support across 4 houses in Bradford.
You will provide direct care and support and carry out support task within the person’s home. This could involve the provision of personal care, health related tasks, support with daily living, administering medication, moving and handling, community participation and activities, household tasks and general emotional support.
Senior Support Worker Duties:
- To ensure that all of our service users receive high quality, individualised, person-centered support,
- To provide mentorship; support; guidance for the staff team working within the service,
- To develop warm and trusting relationships with clients and to encourage them to express their needs, views and concerns,
- Support the management of service delivery, effectively meeting the needs of the clients,
- You will be required to work in a flexible manner which may include working evenings, weekends, waking nights and sleep in’s.
Applicants will be able to demonstrate a warm, compassionate and person-centred approach to working with people with a learning disability, and understand the principles of person centred care. You will have the skills and personal qualities to be able to engage with people in meaningful planning and therapeutic activities.
Good written and verbal communication skills are essential along with strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload. Flexibility to the needs of the service is essential, and a willingness to follow instruction and accept supervision is also required.
At least two years’ experience of providing care and support to people with learning disabilities and other needs is essential for this role, as is a passion to provide excellent managerial support to a friendly staff team in Bradford.
