Managed by the VCSE Team in Culture & Community Services, located with HIVE Portsmouth, our Community Helpdesk is located within Central Library.

HIVE Portsmouth https://www.hiveportsmouth.com/has been developed by a group of voluntary sector leaders working in partnership with the City Council and Health and Care services. The role of the HIVE is to support people within their communities to live independently, by connecting them with groups and organisations who can help them and by working with individuals to make their communities a better we also manage the City's School uniform sharestore.

The main role will be working within a team of Voluntary Sector advisers. You will be the first point of contact and advice on the HIVE Community Helpdesk for individual members of the public and specialists (via agreed referral routes), via the phone, face to face and, via email and social media.

Using the information available to you, through training and your own skills, you will help individuals to receive the support that is right for them, and you will be supported help individuals to resolve issues themselves.

You will have a customer service experience and a passion for quality customer service and delivery that is clear and accurate and an understanding of what good customer service means. With experience of dealing successfully with difficult and challenging situations, you will have a flexible approach and the ability to work under pressure as well as being able to show empathy and not make assumptions or judgements.

This role will deliver targeted interventions to provide whole family support, working alongside a range of community planning partners to ensure that the customer is at the centre of a high-quality advice service.

This role will aim to promote active referrals for customers to a range of holistic support services, working with key stakeholders to improve awareness of financial support, routes to employment, education and training and strengthen referral pathways for appropriate support to achieve whole family wellbeing.

The successful candidate will also assist in the development of this service and help with targeted campaigns for key target groups at highest risk of poverty through the delivery of talks, training and presentations.

The Service

Based at Spithead Resource Centre, Montgomerie Road, Room One is Portsmouth's autism hub, supporting autistic and neurodivergent adults 18+, in the PO1 - PO6 area. It works primarily on a peer led model, offering peer mentoring, peer support, signposting and providing advice and guidance. Room One does not require a diagnosis to access the service. As it is a peer led service, lived experience of neurodivergence is required, but a formal diagnosis is not required.

Your New Role

Working as part of a small team supporting autistic and neurodivergent adults, you will have a good knowledge of the issues impacting autistic and neurodivergent adults. You will lead peer mentoring session on a 1:1 basis and facilitate groups either on focused topics or ad-hoc discussions as well as provide support in the community in a variety of settings. You will liaise with other services to ensure adequate knowledge of what is available in the local community as well as representing Room One at public events, forums and meetings.

SensePlus Portsmouth is the PCC In House service which provides support and development opportunities for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) who may also have additional physical needs, including some behaviours of distress that may present a challenge.

Using the expectations of 'Valuing People Now', we aim to enable people to make informed choices and develop skills through the use of sensory stimulation. We aim to enable people who use the service to enjoy a good quality of life.

SensePlus Portsmouth currently has two separate units, open Monday to Friday and is committed to working with people in ways that supports and maximises their independence and relationships. To achieve this we offer meaningful, structured sessions, which are tailored to support people's goals set out in Personal Profiles for staff to follow. The sessions use multisensory stimulation to aid engagement, participation, and positive outcomes for set goals.

Your New Role

Working as part of the team you will ensure that people who attend the service receive a day care package that reflects their personal abilities and skills and promotes further engagement, independence, wellbeing, and growth.

You will be working with people who have profound and multiple learning disabilities, using multisensory stimulation to achieve positive outcomes for individuals. You will be expected to follow and deliver structured session plans and record details of session outcomes for the service users; raising and discussing any concerns identified during sessions with relevant senior staff. You will undertake complex personal care tasks as required following guidelines, risk assessments and using equipment supplied (training will be given).

What you'll need to succeed

You will need sound knowledge and an understanding of the needs of people with PMLD and complex needs and the conditions commonly associated with PMLD. You will have excellent literacy, verbal and communication skills which are essential as you will be required to maintain accurate and comprehensive written records for people using the service. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. You will have experience equivalent to NVQ Level 3 or above in Social Care and will undertake the Care Certificate and specific qualifications made available that are essential to this post. In addition, you will need an OCN national qualification in Understanding the Needs of Individuals with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) or the ability to successfully complete this qualification within an agreed timeframe. With a calm manner and flexible approach, you will be able to deliver and follow set guidelines for personal care, and be able to complete, implement and follow Personal Profile Plans, session plans and risk assessments whilst supporting the Service. Excellent physical and mental health is essential to enable you to undertake the demands of this role and experience of moving and handling techniques and equipment would be beneficial, though best practice training will be provided. We are currently seeking an Application Support Analyst to join our team supporting local authorities in utilising Liquidlogic's market leading Education and Social Services and Case Management software.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for 2nd and 3rd line support functions as part of the Application Support team.
• Investigate, analyse and problem-solve Incidents raised via our Incident Management System, Jira
• Use application log files, SQL and other diagnostic tools and methodologies to resolve issues, including data issues, coding issues and reviewing application and Windows/SQL logs to identify the cause.
• Liaise with Problem Management, Development and Product teams as well as Third Party subcontractors when required.
• Replicating persistent issues in the applications, using local test systems to identify potential bugs to be logged with Development for fix.
