Position: Learning Support Mentor (LSM)
Role Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Mentor to join our team. Your primary role will be to support a visually impaired student by taking electronic notes, ensuring they have access to all teaching materials, and assisting them generally to access the curriculum, resulting in the student being able to participate fully in their learning experience and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with teachers and the Specialist team to support the student’s learning and academic progress.Promote the student’s social inclusion, self-esteem, and independence.Use your initiative to move the student to independence with tact and empathy.Adopting a flexible approach to meet the student’s needs.
Qualifications and Skills:
GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.Ideally, experience working with people with SEND.Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.Strong command of English, including spelling and grammar.Awareness of the needs of students with visual impairments.Reliability, punctuality, and resilience.
