The role will support both the Licensing Team and the Environmental Health Team (Food Safety predominately)
We are seeking to recruit an individual with experience and knowledge of both teams who will be competent to undertake daily the processing, validation and consultation of applications received, including dealing with customers both face to face on the phone and by email. The logging and processing of food hygiene inspection reports and providing technical support to assist with general enquiries for members of the public in this specialised area.

The ideal candidate must have:
- Excellent organisational skills.
- The ability to cope with processing a high volume of applications efficiently, whilst meeting statutory timescales.
- A good knowledge of Local Authority Licensing and Environmental Health subject areas.
- Strong communication skills to advise customers on enquiries.
- Experience using the Uniform database system.

The applicant must also be flexible in their approach to the delivery of the service and must be prepared to support collaborative working with other local authorities, in the delivery of a modern service.

The Health Improvement Practitioner will be part of the Thurrock Healthy Lifestyle Service (THLS), which supports those living and working in Thurrock to improve their health through programmes for stopping smoking, having a healthy weight, physical activity, and NHS Health Checks. The Stop Smoking Service provides a combined programme of behavioural and pharmacological advice and support to help smokers quit, in line with best practice guidelines. The post holder will be delivering stop smoking support in a variety of settings, and using behaviour change techniques to facilitate appropriate lifestyle advice to reduce risk. The Health Improvement Practitioner will engage with a range of voluntary, community and faith sector organisations, local businesses, and Health and Social Care professionals, as well as communities and localities, to identify groups and individuals who may benefit from stop smoking services but may not traditionally engage with our services.
Key experience and skills required:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a health/health promotion or closely related field
- Communication and facilitation skills to support the assessment and monitoring of smoking behaviour change.
- Good interpersonal skills to enable interaction with clients with a range of emotional needs.

An opportunity has arisen for a Well Being Team Coordinator to contribute to our services within the Adults and Health directorate of the Council. Wellbeing Teams provide care and support for clients in their own homes, single and double handed calls. The service provides care in the community between the hours of 7am and 11pm.
You will be required to work across the Tilbury and Chadwell Teams providing support by line managing the Well Being Workers. You will have experience of rostering care calls to staff, and of working with multi-disciplinary teams of Care and Health Professionals. We are looking for a committed and innovative individual with the knowledge of how a Well Being service operates. You will have worked in statutory services and have a solid knowledge of safeguarding and CQC requirements. In addition, you will have experience of leadership (you will be responsible for a team of at least 15 staff).
As part of our middle management team, we expect you to be a problem-solver who can also think strategically. Most of all you will be committed to putting users of the service at the centre of your decision-making and share in Thurrock's ambition to be the best.

About the team:

The Member Services Team provides high quality administrative support to all Thurrock Councillors, enabling them to be effective within their roles in line with Thurrock Council priorities. This includes working with and supporting the Leader of Thurrock Council, Group Leaders, Deputy Leaders, Cabinet Members and the Mayor. The team consists of two Member Support Officers, a Cabinet Support Officer and the Leader's Office Manager, who all work closely to ensure the timely and first-rate delivery of any support requests from Members.

Main duties include:
- To deputise in responsibilities for the Leader's Office Manager to ensure an exemplary service is provided to the Deputy Leader, Cabinet and Elected Members.
- To provide a first rate executive support service under the direction of the Leader's Office Manager.
- To work collaboratively with colleagues, ensuring the highest standards of performance and reporting for the Elected Members.
- To assist in the preparation for, and attendance at, meetings, events and other engagements with, or on behalf of the Elected Members and the Mayor/Deputy Mayor.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Adult Social Care. We are looking for a Service Manager to support the Principal Social Worker in leading the delivery and development of high-quality social work strength based practice across the Community Led Support Teams and Practice Development Team. As part of this role, you will manage the Community Led Support Managers and Practice Development Managers. You will be expected to provide specialist and expert advice, coaching and challenge in the management of complex casework to frontline practitioners and managers and take a lead on embedding ASC Quality Assurance Framework into frontline practice.
