Do you have experience with working one to one with children, young adults and adults with Special Needs in a mentoring role?
Do you hold a Child Care NVQ, BTEC or CACHE in Health and Social Care or a related subject?
Residential Support Workers are needed urgently in Exeter, to assist young adults and adults with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will be a vital part of a team of passionate support workers in enriching the lives of vulnerable adults with complex disabilities.
All residents will have varied needs, ranging from physical disabilities to complex medical needs, epilepsy, autism, SLD, PMLD and communication difficulties. Some settings also specialise in supporting individuals with Hearing Impairment and Visual Impairment, though training in these areas is not necessary. As a Residential Support Worker you will be working closely 1:1 with residents in all aspects of their daily life; feeding, washing, dressing, medication administration and undertaking day to day tasks. Services in this area promote independence, and you will have the opportunity to spend time with each resident, ensuring they are well cared for both at home and within society.
This is a highly rewarding position, and one that makes a real difference. Working closely with an expert team, you will see demonstrable effects that you personally have on an individual which allows them to thrive.
Market leading pay rates are being offered, and this is a real opportunity to gain valuable experience to support you in future steps in your career.
Positions are ongoing, so you can be assured that you have work opportunities for the foreseeable future, and once you find a setting that suits your personal and professional needs you will have the opportunity to take permanent employment through that service.
The ideal ResidentialSupport Worker will need to have:
• Previous experience within a SEND school or residential care environment
• A patient and caring approach when providing all aspects of care
• Experience in one to one support to encourage independence and raising self-esteem
• Be comfortable with providing personal care to young adults, including washing, dressing, toileting and feeding
• Respect privacy and dignity at all times
• Able to adapt to different working environments
In return the successful ResidentialSupport Worker will enjoy:
• Excellent pay rates
• The opportunity to choose when you want to work or take holidays, including night and day work and weekend work with increased pay opportunities.

• An unrivalled service from a dedicated team of SEND consultants with years of experience and knowledge of the industry
• The opportunity to make genuine difference in young adults’ lives
