• Primary responsibility will be the implementation and maintenance of the facility's Electronic Health Record (EHR) for outpatient services. Responsible for managing the operations and improvements of the Resource Patient Management System's (RPMS) hardware, software, security, network, client/server interaction and clinical applications.
• Sets up EHR files, parameters, menus and clinical references for users; troubleshoots complex program irregularities and determines appropriate action for correction. Assures System and data are appropriately backed-up and runs system tests to assure restoration can be achieved as needed. Responsible for coding, testing and debugging the system to ensure data recovery. Performs acceptance tests, benchmark tests, and other studies used to evaluate the acceptability of computers, programs, and systems for meeting information system needs.
• Function as an application manager in the planning, development, setup and implementation of all aspects the Indian Health Service Resource and Patient Management System EHR. Prepares written policies and procedures for both long-term and short-term plans for the RPMS; Performs daily, weekly and monthly system checks and documents findings for the record.
• Principle resource person to clinical service program managers and other management officials in resolving difficult and highly complex problems, which may be confined to a single service or may extend across organizational services lines. Provides consultation and technical guidance to Area staff as the RPMS site manager. Verbally communicates with Area staff to identify and resolve system related issues. Provide presentations to senior managers on the RPMS operations.
• Serve as trainer to clinical staff to ensure range of application packages including EHR, Health Summary, Progress notes, etc.

• Serve as a consultant and direct care provider to all dental programs of the Service Unit area to carry out the preventative community dental program.
• Coordinate a fluoride rinse program, school sealant program, oral health educational program and other community-based interventions.
• Serve as the principal advisor with the service unit for dental health promotion and disease prevention activities.
• Perform oral healthcare and risk assessments, reviewing patient health history, screening and evaluation of oral disease and healthcare and risk assessments, reviewing patient health history, screening and evaluation of oral disease and health.

• Conducts community assessments to identify physical, mental, social and/or environmental deviations from the normal, responses and attainments of outcomes, using nursing skills of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning intervention and evaluation.

• Abstracts all necessary information and assigns codes (ICD-10, CPT, & HCPCS). Determines the final diagnosis and procedures stated by the physician are valid. Works with automated records systems. Assist with the review, analysis, technical evaluation of the Patient Component Encounter (PCC) form in relation to the completeness of diagnoses, procedures, and provider signatures.
• Conducts quality control and improvement tracking and identifying inadequate documentation. Communicating program software and hardware programs and maintaining workload logs. Generates daily error reports, performs error resolution activities, manages monthly database activities, ensures transmission are complete, and submits monthly data quality improvement reports.
• Manages and provides oversight of clinical documentation improvement program, manages the charge master system, works with the meaningful use coordinator to ensure data capture occurs, maintains comprehensive audit trails and logs for all processes performed, generation of various transmission reports, visit summaries, completes coders accuracy audits, and provides feedback to coders and clinical staff as required.

• Assists the Clinical Director with researching and implementing Clinical Standards of Care, Practice Guidelines related to medical care for the Clinical Services Branch.

• Receive patients, visitors, and telephone calls; refers calls to appropriate staff; escorts patients into treatment areas, as needed.
• Answers routine medical, personnel, and administrative inquiries; and confirms eligibility; maintains patient logs.

• Monitors all phases of assigned contracts from inception to completion.

• Prepares the patient, swabbing the area clean before and after a patient encounter, removing eye shields, prosthetics, pressure patches, contact lenses, preparing the room and instruments for the procedure, assists with positioning the patient's head or holding the eyelids apart.
• Provides orientation and training for other employees and interns and maintains supply of patient education materials.
• Meets and greets patients, directs patient flow, schedules appointments, answers telephone, takes messages, transfers telephone calls, responds to patient inquiries, assists patients with referrals, assists with medication requests, pre-op and post-op information, and questions regarding clinic policies and procedures.
• Maintains clinic supplies and pharmaceutical orders using inventory checklists. Cleans equipment after patient use in compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
