Role - Multi-skills lecturer (Construction)
Hourly rate - Competitive
Location - South Yorkshire
To be responsible for teaching on further education courses in a range of trade areas. These could include Carpentry & Joinery, Brickwork, Plastering, Painting & Decorating, Plumbing or Tiling.
You will be qualified in one of these fields to a minimum of a level 2 and be competent in at least one more in order to teach the range of the C&G 6219-02 & 05 range.
In line with qualification/experience, to be responsible for specific subject development, significant research/consultancy activity, master classes, course verification, coordinating course teams and course leadership.
To be responsible for the use of appropriate assessment methods, the achievement of learning and teaching goals and the recording of learner activity.
Essential criteria
- Holds appropriate teaching qualification / substantial industrial experience (or working towards an appropriate teaching qualification for unqualified lecturers)
- Has relevant subject expertise which will assist with the further enhancement of the quality of taught programmes within the Department/Faculty
- Possesses a relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification at level 3
- Lecturers must have a minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience in a lecturing role / training role within the Further and Higher Education sector
Desirable Criteria
- Has knowledge and understanding of internal quality processes and procedures.
- Has an understanding of Further, Apprenticeship and/or Higher Education funding and funding mechanisms.
