This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.

The role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance. You will be leading a team of Quantity Surveyors and Apprentices to commercially deliver services and Work Task Orders on site at Hinkley Point C from 'kick-off' meetings to final account.

Day-to-day, you'll responsible for monitoring and reporting, preparing cost advice, drafting contract communications including Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events, amongst assisting with audit and cost verification events; all integral towards driving commercial performance of various contracts within the scope of the Alliance.

• Provide commercial support on site to Multi-Disciplinary Teams
• Assist with the audit and cost verification activities including close out of Task Order of Defined Cost
• Prepare field change Cost Advice for the Area
• Ensuring compliant management of scope change; all Compensation Events (CEs) are validated and recorded in CEMAR.

Role duties and responsibilities
* Contacting new and existing clients to generate new opportunities through B2B sales calls, meetings and using LinkedIn.
* Negotiating fees and rates with clients to ensure you are maximising your commercial output.
* Managing client accounts and becoming their preferred recruitment partner by regular service reviews, and on-site meetings to set agreed SLAs and discuss job profiles.
* Writing engaging job adverts and usual social media to source the best talent.
* Sourcing candidates using industry-leading job boards and carrying out interviews.
* Carrying out compliance checks ensuring they have the correct right to work.
* Maintaining regular contact with both candidates and clients.

Are you an experienced Pre-Construction Manager looking for a new opportunity with a leading Tier 1 Contractor?

As a Pre-Construction Manager you'll be working within the Building Solutions Team, supporting them in the delivery of Pre-Construction Services .

Your day to day will include:

• Manage and coordinate the Pre-Construction activities of either traditional or design and build projects once awarded, with responsibility for managing the Pre-Construction process from tender issue through to handover to the operational team

• Work collaboratively with the members of the Pre-Construction team, inclusive of governance, commercial, estimating, planning, and design management to ensure milestones are identified, monitored, and achieved to successfully complete the Pre-Construction process.

• Attend site visits to view the project during the Pre-Construction stage and engage with designers and supply chain partners as necessary to inform the detailed design and pricing process.

What are we looking for?

This role of Pre-Construction Manager is great for you if:

• HNC/HND/Degree in a construction or engineering subject and / or Membership of a relevant body (CIOB, APM, CIAT, RICS)

• Previous Pre-Construction experience on projects up to £10m with strong experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams

• A proven record of successful multi-project delivery through management of a skilled team of people
• CSCS Card
• Full UK Drivers Licence

The Role
Key duties include;
- Compile and review monthly project reports on KPI’s
- Lead and assist with the compilation of financial budgets and forecasts for the business unit including but not limited to project working hours
- Manage overhead costs within the business unit.
- Monitor business unit and project activities for compliance with legal, ethical and professional standards.
- Conduct financial audits on the projects, with a focus on cost and revenue forecasts.
- Monitor outstanding debtors and assist Project Managers to resolve.
- Monitor committed/open Purchase Orders and ensure that Purchase Orders are closed out within an appropriate timeframe.


About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in the related discipline - bachelor's degree in finance, or relevant field
- Previously worked in the Mining, Construction and Engineering sectors
- 2-3 years' experience in similar role
- Knowledge in the application and establishment of project planning, scheduling and cost control tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to details
- Competent in all Microsoft Office Suites
