The Built Environment Surveying Team primarily undertake the mechanical and electrical elements of building surveys. The team are responsible for assessing the condition and statutory compliance of the building services in Devonport Dockyard.
The role
As a Mechanical and Electrical Surveyor, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will ensure building services operate efficiently and comply with regulations which is crucial for infrastructure longevity at the Royal Navy's operational base.
Day to day, you'll asses the condition and compliance of building services, maintain asset databases, and scope any necessary remedial works. You will also:
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to survey and report on planned maintenance, responsive repairs, and infrastructure assets.
- You will collaborate with other teams to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the dockyard's facilities.
This role is 35 hours per week, offering a flexible hybrid working pattern and will be based at Devonport Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Mechanical and Electrical Surveyor
- Experienced surveyor with knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems (E.g. HVAC, lighting, fire alarms etc…)
- Proficient in preparing surveyor reports and condition assessments.
Qualifications for the Mechanical and Electrical Surveyor
- It is desirable, but not essential to have a degree or HND level in building services or similar.
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
