Hybrid role - working from home, or from one of our regional offices in Maryport, Cumbria, or One Strawberry Lane, Newcastle and our properties in the North West of Cumbria and North East Region.

Typical day as a Maintenance Project Surveyor
- Carrying out pre and post inspections of planned maintenance work on a variety of different property types, managing a patch covering the NW of Cumbria, and NE region ensuring that our contractors deliver high-quality work and that our customers are happy with the outcome.
- Providing technical advice and support to our contractors and suppliers so we deliver a high-quality, cost-effective and compliant service in accordance with agreed specifications, from our Retro-Fit team and designers.
- Managing contracts including progress against programmes and using customer insight to support us in delivering on our customer promise - and managing performance Indicators on our principal contractors.
- Supporting our colleagues in helping customers to combat damp and mould issues in their homes - one of the essential aspects in our Retro-Fit delivery model.
- Accurately measuring materials to enable a ‘right first time’ approach, ensuring they do not vary from set and agreed specifications.

You have
- Building surveying experience including property condition and dilapidation surveys and specifying remedial works.
- Hold a Building Surveying qualification HND, HNC or Degree Level, as well as PAS2035 qualifications, Level 2 or Level 5 - or working towards these qualifications.
- Current knowledge of building repairs, construction as well as CDM roles and responsibility.
- Able to manage, control budgets and expenditure, and performance information.
- A vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage!
- A self-starter approach, able to work unsupervised to manage your own patch, working commercially to deliver our programmes of work on time and to budget.
- Knowledge of Retro-Fit works, including installation of renewable energy measures.
- Excellent experience in performance management of Principal contractors.
- Excellent at building strong Contractor/Client relationships.
- Excellent at delivering a customer focused approach, and excellent level of customer care.

Job details
- Working Monday to Friday, you’ll shape your own diary around work, customers’ and your own commitments.
- This is a hybrid role, so you’ll typically spend some days in our offices others working at home and the rest working in our properties in NW Cumbria or NE regions.
- You must be able to use technology for updating records, budget and KPI management, completing online learning and collaborating with other colleagues.
- You’ll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
