Your new role
As an M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will manage the financial aspects of construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and maintenance work. Your responsibilities will range from initial cost advice to final account settlement. Key tasks include:

• Supporting Business Unit Directors in achieving business objectives.
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers.
• Delivering high-quality services and ensuring cost management deliverables meet customer expectations.
• Managing projects to ensure high-quality services and output in line with business procedures.
• Preparing and presenting cost estimates and option studies.
• Conducting cost planning and cost-in-use studies.
• Advising on and implementing procurement strategies.
• Preparing tender documentation and managing the tender process, including designing tender evaluation schemes.
• Evaluating and reporting on tenders.
• Valuing completed work and arranging payments.
• Settling final accounts.
• Administering contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent.
• Producing and presenting reports to customers.
• Identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across Business Units.
• Managing service delivery for profitability.
• Promptly informing Directors of any issues that arise on projects, particularly those impacting professional indemnity insurance.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Extensive experience in cost management.
• Practical experience in cost estimating and planning.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Familiarity with construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
• Experience in post-contract cost management tasks.
• Clear and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• A methodical approach to work and strong organisational skills.
• The ability to adapt quickly to changing environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, financial, and numeracy skills.
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• The ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
• An understanding of legislation impacting building contracts.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) - desirable.

Our client is looking for a driven, hard-working solicitor to join their highly regarded Commercial Property Team. You’ll work closely with the Head of the Team, and other senior solicitors on a wide range of matters, including:

• Freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals
• Transactional landlord and tenant work
• Secured lending
• Supporting the Corporate Team on the property aspects of business sales and acquisitions

They are looking for an experienced Surveyor who has previous experience working on Social Housing Damp works projects.

Duties:

• To manage all surveying duties within the housing stock and carry out any technical inspections on the planned works projects
• To provide summary reports where required of all on-going managed cases and technical de-canted properties outlining levels of performance of the contractors and performance manage contractors delivering repairs to ensure strict timelines of completions are adhered to
• To undertake technical inspections of the homes including all leased properties to distinguish planned works in line with the companies Policy's
• Commercial Awareness within Reactive Repairs and Damp and Mould projects
• To liaise, monitor and progress all planned maintenance to the home's regeneration stock through its DLO and partnering contractors

Key Knowledge:

• Previous Social Housing experience required
• Strong team player with excellent communication skills
• Proactive approach to work
• Proven track record for being Reliable and punctual
• Must hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle
