Due to expansion within their Property Owners team, a position for an Underwriter has arisen.
Your new role
Working as an Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating, pricing, and underwriting property insurance risks within delegated authority limits.
Review and assess new and renewal submissions and negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients. You will manage and monitor the performance of the property insurance portfolio, building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and intermediaries.
Duties will also include analysing risk information and applying sound judgement to make informed underwriting decisions as well as identify and assess risk exposures.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working as an Underwriter who has experience underwriting Property Owners risks ideally in the London Market, or you will have Underwriting experience and will cross train into Property will contribute to your success in securing this role.
Progress towards or achieved CII or ACII qualification is advantageous. You will have an ability to assess and analyse complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions based on data and market insights, a proven ability to negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients and strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships. You will also have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in underwriting, policy documentation and reporting, regulatory awareness and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
