You will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paints and finishes, and delivering exceptional results that meet our clients' specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and priming.
• Mix and match paints and finishes to achieve desired colours and effects.
• Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Repair and touch up surfaces as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines.

Building Surveyor (Scotland)

Where: Homebased role, based in and around either Glasgow or Edinburgh
When: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £45,000pa - £50,000pa DOE + company car

We are currently seeking a Building Surveyor, providing technical and professional support to the property and large loss adjusting teams. You will play a key role in offering advice and guidance on complex building issues that arise from client losses.

This will involve tasks such as providing technical advice, writing reports, capturing specifications and scopes, preparing tender documentation, managing procurement, and overseeing contract administration. You will receive referrals for work from our own adjuster teams as well as third-party adjusters/insurers. It will be your responsibility to handle losses over £50,000, overseeing the entire process from engagement to completion.

What will you be doing?

- Working independently but as part of a home-based UK team, you will be responsible for your own portfolio of work.
- The work will involve repairs caused by all the major perils but mainly, fire, flood, escape of water and impact and all types of domestic buildings and some commercial property.
- Responsible for producing a quality service to internal and external loss adjusters and insurer clients following internal processes.
- Being a building construction technical referral point for the CCA team, including confirming and validation repair costs.
- Running own caseload of high value/complex property repairs, including conducting site visits and assessments to establish the extent and value of domestic and commercial damage and repairs.
- Provide support to our adjusters – assistance with scope reviews, structural engineers report reviews/ queries, loss assessor scopes, tenders, joint site visits, project management.

What we need from you:

- Must hold BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent
- RICS or CIOB desirable or working towards
- Experienced Surveyor
- Specialist experience in a related subject would be an advantage.
- Extensive and demonstrable property claims insurance experience is an advantage.
- A good level of construction industry experience/knowledge, including cost is required.

As the Quantity Surveyor you will be part of our Commercial team who actively assist the Commercial Department and project team to maximise profit and reduce risk. Involving managing internal and external stakeholders to ensure deadlines are met effectively and efficiently and outcomes are achieved.
As the Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting in the provision of relevant information for preparation of reports and claims to agreed timescales.
- Assist with the ongoing implementation of the commercial application in respect of site personnel at all time whilst developing lasting relationships with Business Unit and Project Managers.
- Constantly refer to the project risk management plan for thorough, accurate, high-level risk assessment.
