About the role of Project Quantity Surveyor

Reporting to the Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be a fundamental member of the team with a range of responsibilities, such as managing the procurement, commercial and contractual aspects in relation to construction projects. Requirements for Project Quantity Surveyor

It is essential that you hold a BSc, NVQ4 or MSc qualification along with a relevant CSCS card. You will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to motivate and influence with ease. In addition, you will be a natural problem solver with exceptional commercial acumen and confident decision maker. It is essential that you have a solid understanding of construction techniques and processes, along with an excellent understanding of various forms of Method of Measurement and standard engineering contracts as well as having the appreciation and willingness to adopt Value engineering principles. Finally, you will have excellent IT skills; enjoy working in a positive and thriving environment.

Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be based in the office and be responsible for, but not limited to, assisting in producing and providing accurate forecasts of project costs to completion/final value, monitoring cash flow and valuation plans, managing subcontract tender processes, managing subcontractor accounts as well as providing accurate reports of costs and values on the projects. This role is predominantly office-based with travel to sites as and when required.

In order to be successful, you will ideally hold a degree/HND in Quantity Surveying (or similar) or working towards. Along with a good working knowledge of NEC contracts. In addition, you will have proficient IT skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Finally, you will have strong organisational skills and interpersonal skills.

• Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director

• Assist in the delivery of the condition survey program across Lancashire.
• Conduct condition surveys within set parameters and timescales, inputting information into the property asset management system.

• Work independently as field-based staff, planning and managing workload effectively.
• Utilize building or engineering building pathology knowledge to identify defects, remedies, and costs across a wide range of building stock.

Skills and Experience
