About The Role
EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.
We are seeking to recruit a Utilities Construction Manager for our Greatworth to Southam area of works.
As Utilities construction manager you will be Responsible for a geographical area of works, ensuring a fully compliant system of work for the delivery of all Contestable Utility Diversions and Connections to time, quality and budget.
You will work closely with the Designer, Statutory undertaker, Construction team stakeholders and HS2 to deliver utility designs to ensure fully coordinated proposals are delivered.
Produce information that supports the ‘Utilities Process Coordinator’ through the delivery of C4 -C9 NRSWA process and HS2 requirements and ensure compliance with the contract. You will be expected to Integrate with the area Construction teams to deliver all aspects of the allocated Contestable utility scope, including potential growth in scope.
Responsible to produce routine progress reports to the Utilities Project Manager and Construction teams.
Lead key meetings with internal and external stakeholders, recording, writing and communicating actions and key points.
Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure best practice is always integrated at the local level.
Notify Supply Chain partners, Statutory Undertakers and other relevant project partners in accordance with the programme of works required.
Identify General Communication and Early Warnings to mitigate risks, issues and enable the realisation of opportunities.
Capture As-Built information around Utilities and distribute this in accordance with the EKFB information management protocols.
Work closely with the Utilities Project Manager and Commercial Manger in completing Contestable Utility works, including the adoption and handover procedure with the Statutory Undertakers.
Integrate best safety practice into EKFB from industry, HS2 and Statutory Undertakers into the delivery of works around Utilities.
Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and support and comply with all organizational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
Work in accordance with the EKFB BMS policies & procedures.
About The Candidate
- Degree level qualification in either project management, commercial management, civil engineering or the equivalent experience.
- Experience of delivering utility projects, with Statutory Undertakers, in the power, water, gas, fuel or telecoms environment.
- Knowledge of New Road Street Works Act, HAUC, HS2 Act, Assurance & PPAs, Utility Regulations to inform project management of various design, construction and connection works with Statutory Undertakers.
- Knowledge of the CDM Principal Designer role.
- Decision-Maker.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and oral).
- You must hold a driving license and have access to a vehicle
- Mandatory CSCS Requirement (one of the following) - Black, White, White/Yellow, Yellow or Red Experienced
