Position Sought: Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor

My client, who is a well established Tier 1 Civil Engineering and Rail contractor, is currently looking for either a Project or Senior QS to independently manage a £13m Bridge refurbishment project based in the Bedforsdhire area as part of a billion pound railway framework.
The scope of works will mostly consist of steel work repairs, structure enhancements, grip blasting and painting. This is an ICC contract with a fixed price option. Currently, the design/procurement phase is complete with the enabling works due to start imminently.
The successful candidate will be independently be running the job, from site, and reporting into the Regional Commercial Lead. The candidate will be responsible, and therefore will need to have a good understanding, of subcontractor management, change management and dealing with variations, cost reporting and understanding of extension of time.
This is a long term freelance role with the option to work on hybrid basis which will be split between site (Bedfordshire) 2 days a week, head office (London) 1 day a week and from home 2 days a week.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8-10 years experience within a Quantity Surveyor position
- Experience working on projects related to Bridges
- Must have experience working on NEC forms of contractor or ideally ICC contracts
- Good technical knowledge of construction, bridges and structures
- Experience with cost reporting, extension of time and change management
