We are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work on a freelance basis for a Civil Engineering Contractor based across multiple schemes across Scotland.
This will be working on part of a Scottish Water Framework.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in civil engineering and will be well-versed in the NEC contract. You should be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. You should also have excellent communication skills, as you will be liaising with a variety of stakeholders throughout the project.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Preparing and managing budgets and cost plans
- Conducting cost analysis and reporting on the financial status of projects
- Providing advice on contractual matters, including the interpretation of the NEC contract
- Managing change control procedures and assessing the impact of change on project costs
- Preparing and submitting interim and final valuations
- Negotiating and agreeing on final accounts with contractors and sub-contractors
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Extensive experience in civil engineering, including highways and infrastructure projects
- Experience working with the NEC contract
- Strong commercial acumen and a thorough understanding of cost management principles
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
