About the Role

You’ll be responsible for submitting completed bids at all stages to existing or prospective customers, work with the rest of the bide team to develop strategy, cost, programme and logistics, whilst ensuring all questions have been answered as fully as possible, positioning Morgan Sindall with the best possible chance of success.

You’ll plan and manage all aspects of bids, ensuring effective and inspirational bid management and leadership is provided on all tenders, whilst establishing winning strategies, implementing writing plans for quality lead bids. Understanding and interacting with the overall Morgan Sindall business to allow projection of benefits to customers through our proposals, you’ll propose and deliver our commercial, programme and risk management strategies, whilst providing support and assistant to our bid team members. You will lead and manage the PCSA stage of projects through to final contract agreement and coordinate the handover to a delivery team who will work alongside you throughout this process.

About You

As Bid Manager, you’ll ideally be educated to HND and/or degree level, with a track record of winning profitable work within your role within Preconstruction. You will have extensive experience in the tendering process and management of the PCSA period of a project. You’ll have the ability to research our projects and clients to demonstrate an understanding of our client’s key drivers, effectively communicating our differentiators and approach. You’ll be competent in multiple software platforms including Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent.

Experience in a previous estimating role would be preferred.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

What will I be doing as an Apprentice Site Manager?

Our Early Careers Development Programme can vary, depending on what step you join us at!

We can fully support you from the beginning of your level 4 undergraduate programme or if you have already commenced built environment studies and have achieved HNC/HND level; we can support your application to get you started a bit further on in your learning journey at 2nd or 3rd year at undergraduate level!

Not only will be support you to obtain a professional qualification, but you will gain first class on-the-job experience in your role fully supported by line management and the wider network of skilled colleagues in the business. The Early Careers Development Programme allows you to start your career and get paid as you learn!

A day as an Apprentice Site Manager can look like:

• Working on one of our inspiring construction sites and help preparation for the day.
• Learning about project costs to support future bids.
• Being the first point of contact for general site enquires for operational support teams and our supply chain.
• Building relationships with our supply chain to ensure safety, health, environmental, and social value goals are achieved.

Your salary will start in line with the national living wage for 2025. (At least £23,400). A benefit of our Early Careers Development Programme is continuous recognition over the 2-4 years with salary progression of up to a maximum 5% every 6 months.

What you will need.

You’ll need a minimum of the following:-

• A Level BBB or;
• BTEC National Diploma DDM or;
• Access to HE qualifications with 24 Distinctions 21 Merits or;
• Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 120 UCAS points (may vary depending on FE/HE Establishment)
• Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including Maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above).

If so, we’ve a fantastic opportunity within our Construction business for an ambitious and talented Planner to join us in Chelmsford.

About the Role

Joining our team, you’ll provide programmes, analysis of programmes and communication with the team as required by the Senior Planner / Planning Manager and produce and assist in the production of tender logistics plans, method statements and temporary works schedules. Assisting project managers with onsite planning and reporting requirements, you will manage your own tasks, taking day to day decision on your own, and manage costs and quantities on small projects or as part of a team on a larger project.

About You

Educated to degree level in Building Studies (or equivalent), you’ll have extensive experience in programme / project management and project planning (including programme controls, project reviews, and cost and risk analysis). You’ll be competent in project management software to include Primavera P6 or Asta PowerProject and have experience of working on multi-discipline construction projects within the sectors Morgan Sindall operates.

With good attention to detail and the ability to work to challenging deadlines, you will work well as part of a team and be self-motivated to work on own initiative. You’ll have well developed numerical and analytical skills and have a creative approach to problem solving.

A full UK driving licence is essential.
