Property Lawyer
A regional house builder have a requirement for a Property Lawyer to join their team. The company are an established house builder that operate within the North West and Midlands region, delivering housing developments for customers ranging from first time buyers to large detached family homes.
The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Property Lawyer to join their business based out of their Stoke Office. The purpose of the role is to deal with property acquisitions for the purpose of acquiring land for development and / or assist head of department in such matters. You should be self-motivated and pro-active, with the ability to meet strict deadlines. It is essential that you are a qualified Solicitor, have a property background either from private practice or in-house, the role can be adapted depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Preparation of heads of terms
- Preparation / approval of contract / option / pre-emption agreement / promotion agreement / overage based on the heads of terms
- Preparation of report on title
- Oversee the request for searches
- Raise title enquiries before contract
- Attend any meetings that are required for the progress of the matter
- Attend site visits for the purpose of checking development sites
- Draft section 106 agreements
- Complete SDLT documentation and registration applications
- Assist others in the department
- Prepare site set up documentation
- Negotiate infrastructure agreements
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will want to focus on development work and have effective oral and written communication skills. The candidate should have a pleasant and pro-active manner, be risk-management focused, have good analytical skills and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines. You will be highly organised, familiar with coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive on working to deadlines. The candidate should be proficient with IT (Microsoft packages, Excel etc.) and have a good attention to detail, in addition to being self-motivated, customer focused, target driven, positive and a team player. A full driving licence is essential.
