Location
This role can be based in one of our brilliant hubs of Blackpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield or Newcastle. We work a hybrid model, so you'll split your time between home and the office.

Tell me more about the position
In this pivotal position, you'll play a crucial role in defining and upholding our network architecture standards, guiding solution designs, and endorsing technology selections. Your wealth of experience will be instrumental in shaping our network technology roadmap and staying abreast of industry trends to inform our IT strategy.
As a key member of our core architecture team, you'll collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation, offering expert guidance to solution architects and fostering alignment among senior business and technical stakeholders. With your leadership, we'll continue to deliver innovative and robust network solutions that support our mission to provide essential services to millions of people.
You will support the delivery of Networks technology roadmap. Research, understand and communicate network domain-related IT industry trends - emergence of new technology challenges and capabilities.
Your Essential Skills and Experience:
- Leading and governing network architecture design of business-critical IT projects/services in a large, complex UK central government or private sector organisation.
- Successfully presenting network solutions at governance forums.
- Successfully influencing & driving agreement across senior business and technical stakeholders
- Networks strategies, blueprints, reference architectures and design patterns.
- Network service infrastructure, including cloud native networking (AWS, Azure, GCP and OCI), routing, switching, managed WAN and LAN design, Ethernet, wireless solutions.
- Network Protocols, Standards and Hardware configuration.

In return for your skills, we pay between £69,869 - £89,995 per annum.
You will also receive a brilliant civil service pension, with employer contributions of 28.97% worth up to £22,500 each year.
