Applications are invited for an AV Store Technician within the Technical Support department at the Glasgow School of Art on a 1 year, fixed term basis with a start date in January 2025.

We are seeking an AV Store Technician who will enjoy working in a creative and dynamic educational environment. The successful candidate will be assigned to the Digital Media team. Duties will be to provide an effective and efficient equipment-loan service for the Technical Support Department and be responsible for the day to day stock control, loan-procedures & maintenance of the departmental video, audio, presentation and other related equipment. The role-holder will also be available to advise on stock and non-stock items and to process purchase requisitions.

You should be qualified to HND level or have equivalent experience in a relevant area including experience in the safe operation and basic maintenance of A/V & A/V related equipment: video cameras, DSLRs, audio recorders & microphones, tripods & stands, projectors, media players, etc. with an understanding of the creative use of this equipment.

MGF are currently seeking a Design Engineer to join a leading Temporary Works Engineering department, based in Astley, Manchester.
Specialising in temporary works design, the successful candidates will be working within a 35 strong engineering department in Manchester with full technical responsibility for your own projects.
Following an established, successful training programme, the successful candidate would have full technical responsibility for their own projects, be expected to manage their own designs and attend site meetings / inspections nationwide in support of their design work – initially supported by Senior Engineers. This is a new post which will play a key role on building our halls offering to accommodate new GSA students. The post holder will be expected to participate with the provision and running of the halls including: providing professional reception and administrative support, day to day running of sites within the halls portfolio with a view to maintaining good HMO standards, keeping the halls fresh and developing with our customer in mind. There does require to be a degree of flexibility in terms of site attendance across the variety of locations we manage, however this role is based in Glasgow.

Qualifications:

Our location in Temecula, CA, currently has an opportunity for a Tooling Design Engineer.

  

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Perform detailed mechanical design of Manufacturing fixtures and assembly aids

• Perform part to CAD analysis of injection molded components to determine deviation of as built condition.

• Update 3D injection molded component designs to resolve non-parametric features.

• Interface with internal customers to provide mechanical design support for manufacturing and testing equipment

• Support the development of automated equipment

• Evaluate process and design alternatives based on Design for Manufacturability principles.

• Establish knowledge base of new developments in manufacturing and design technologies.

• Interface with vendors on procuring materials, services, and equipment

• Assemble and evaluate automated equipment

• Establishes machine specifications.

• Support equipment validations

• Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

• Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

• Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

•Working environment varies from standard office/cubicle with air/sound/light control to general laboratory and production areas with varying physical conditions including “clean room” situations

Equipment:

• On occasion, work with a variety of production equipment, small hand tools, test equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
• Use standard office equipment such as telephone, fax/copier, and a personal computer with standard office software.

Physical Demands:

• Activities require a significant amount of sitting in front of a computer monitor, some standing and walking.
• Significant use of hands and arms, plus finger dexterity to reach, point, write, type, operate a computer and other office equipment.
• Performs tasks that regularly require good correctable vision and hand/eye coordination. Activities also require significant use of voice and hearing for discussions with other employees.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING:

General Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Associates degree in equipment technology with 7-10 years’ experience

• 3-5 years’ experience as machine design engineer

• Must have experience with designing and fabricating automated production equipment for low and high volume processes.

• Good communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization

• Experience with general automation and control concepts along with machine vision systems and PLC software programming.

• CAD software skills are also required (ProE, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD).

• Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

• Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

• Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

• Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

• Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

• Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

• Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

• Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.

• Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.

The base pay for this position is

$72,700.00 – $145,300.00
