UK Power Networks is looking for a Principal Design Coordinator to work within Capital Programme - Engineering Design based in Crawley office. The salary is £58,229 and a bonus of 3%, with the possibility of blended working after a six-month probationary period. The job purpose is to monitor, enable and coordinate between customers, project managers and designers, and to provide CDM compliance and advice within the design teams. The main responsibilities include providing health, safety, environmental and CDM advice to the design team, monitoring and reporting on the design progress and risk assessments, providing CDM coordination and notification to HSE, collating monthly design dashboard, and contributing to the production of technical, commercial and contractual documents.
The qualifications required are a track record in design coordination with experience in electrical networks, NEBOSH Construction Certificate or working towards it, minimum technical qualifications at HNC/HND or equivalent, proficiency in Microsoft desktop applications, a good safety ethos with a sound understanding of CDM regulations, and a full valid UK driving licence.
The nature and scope of the role are to receive projects from Design Lead/Project Manager and assist the coordination of designers, to enable the design manager to fulfil the role of principal designer. You will liaise with external design resources to track design progress and ensure quality, cost and programme compliance, to support design reviews and closure of actions, to work as a team player in a dedicated design team, and to communicate with senior colleagues and customers.
