An Infrastructure Technician's responsibility is to plan and execute the design, installation, and connection of computer systems and network infrastructure to ensure the stable operation of an organization's IT resources.
It includes developing, designing, maintaining, assisting and adapting all new and existing network hardware, software and communications technologies. The technician role is also responsible for telephones, data centers, security systems and other related business electronic infrastructure.
This Infrastructure Technician is responsible for the following essential responsibilities:
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed
Oversee network traffic and LAN and WAN installations
Check for problems with LAN and WAN infrastructure
Design and install high-performance computer network connections, including cabling
Troubleshoot and troubleshoot systems to increase network uptime
Technicians provide resolution for final KTV PC hardware and software application failures, as well as provide support for other IT assets on site such as local area network (LAN), servers, and email. Technicians are responsible for the design, procurement, installation and configuration of all IT infrastructure that supports the efficient use of on-site technology. This includes power consumption, monitoring hardware, software and disaster recovery.
Technicians respond to user requests and help desk referrals when troubleshooting computer software, hardware, peripherals, or production-related equipment issues. They prioritize issues based on complexity, urgency, and potential negative impact on the organization. They track and log all incidents until the problem is resolved.
