Hays Technology are recruiting a Chief Architect to join a growing public sector organisation in the Leeds area.
Your new role
In your new role, you will be defining, developing, and maintaining the technology architecture and lifecycle delivery roadmap for the organisation's technology estate, whilst devising, establishing, and managing a technology governance approach for IT services. You will be consulting senior-level stakeholders across the organisation to identify business and technology needs and to optimise the use of technology.
You will be delivering the technology and systems dimension within the organisation's wider operational resilience framework, including BC/DR plans, whilst overseeing and assisting in building relationships with vendors, creating cost-efficient contracts and managing escalations to resolution. You will be overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organisation's technology infrastructure, ensuring the security, scalability, and reliability of technology systems and networks.
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrable experience of Technology delivery with a successful track record of delivering and operating effective IT solutions
- Relationship management, including demonstrable experience of representing IT with C-Suite, Senior Management colleagues and 3rd party Service Providers
- Defining, transforming, and managing an IT function
- Proven ability to manage budgets and resourcing
- Demonstrable experience of operating effectively in a challenging delivery focused environment containing blended teams (e.g. permanent, contract, vendor, MSPs)
- Experience leading and motivating small teams to deliver sustained high performance
