What you’ll be doing as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

- Complete the design of complex engineering processes in the water and wastewater industry.
- Support multidisciplinary teams in developing solutions to engineering challenges for operational plants to ensure adherence to stringent design codes.
- Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams for mechanically biased projects.
- Undertake equipment failure root cause analysis investigations to establish failure methods and reduce the impact and future occurrence.
- Provide technical input into project definition briefs.
- Provide mechanical input into asset surveys and plant condition assessments, feasibility studies, optioneering, whole-life costing, and preliminary designs.
- Provide the technical sign-off and assurance during technical delivery, including handover.
- Ensure we are compliant with engineering-based regulatory requirements in their area.
- Support testing and development of new technologies for implementation in research projects.
- Provide the technical sign-off (accountability) and assurance that the project needs will be fulfilled during technical delivery, including handover and commissioning.
- Develop new tools (software, programs, Apps, etc.) to enhance the Engineering team's capabilities.
- Support the establishment of a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for engineering.

Hybrid – Clearwater Court, you will be required in the office and on-site 2-3 days a week and as the business requires.

What you should bring to the role

- Be a recognised senior engineer (Chartered or close to achieving Chartered Status) in Mechanical Engineering with considerable experience in the water industry or a closely related equivalent sector.
- Be degree qualified or equivalent in mechanical engineering with chartership through a relevant awarding body/working towards chartership.
- Have design engineer knowledge of a detailed design level.
- Provide background on supporting quantity surveyors/cost estimating teams in the scope development for cost modelling and budgetary proposals.
- Be knowledgeable in any of the following: pumps/pipe systems, sludge, gas/CHP systems, water/wastewater treatment process equipment.
- Understand the regulatory environment to achieve compliance with our engineering regulatory requirements.

Lead Solution Engineer for MCO Equipment

Thales India Engineering Competency Center (ECC) in Bangalore is seeking a Solution Engineer for MCO equipment, to be part of MCO engineering team. In this role you will be in charge of Engineering activities to demonstrate the compliance and functionalities of equipment in front of Design Changes with same form-fit-functionalities. You establish the Change Impact Analysis, and perform the Simulation, analysis and verification activities.

Context of Design in MCO activities for FLX Cockipit and Computers,
After the first certification of our Equipment's, during serial production and support phases, our equipment are regularly submitted to Design Changes. These Design Change involving partial redesign, are mainly due to obsolescence treatment, necessary correction to solve critical PR (Problem Report).; or enhancement improvement of equipment capabilities. These design changes vary from minor changes (component change with limited impact) to more significant change where all the safety, qualification, and certification information have to be re-assessed regarding airworthiness regulation, all the Design Changes must be submitted to customer approval before release. Our Equipment's are Computers (as Flight Control, Flight Management, Display, Interactivity Control Panel, Head up Display). Our team is focused on Hardware Changes (electronics, packaging).

Qualifications:   

Equipment engineering or equivalent with 8+12 years of relevant experience in aeronautic. Higher qualifications of post-graduation is desirable. Domain experience in civil Avionics design is desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Establish Impact Analysis of electronics Design Changes

  • Understand the applicable documentation basis (from specification to IVVQ and safety BOM data package).

  • Propose the validation plan.

• Build the Simulation/analysis, and establish the entire necessary demonstration to obtain our PDA (followed by Customer) approval,
