Office Clerk 

As an Office Clerk students will assist staff with planning and organizing work and communicating effectively, orally and in writing.

Duties may include drafting documents, presentations, research, and routine procedural processing, maintaining records, assisting with meeting facilitation and other administrative tasks. In this role students may also assist the office they are supporting by answering phones and greeting guests, employees and staff warmly. 

Students in the role may also address internal and external inquiries about the organization, help plan and organize office activities, perform data entry using Microsoft office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Position Overview

The Simulation, Optimization and Systems (SOS) Group at Autodesk Research is looking for a passionate and skilled research intern for Summer 2024 or earlier at our Toronto office located in the MaRS Discovery District. The ideal intern will conduct research and develop prototype code to solve engineering design optimization problems.

Responsibilities

Conduct original research in developing or applying novel techniques for solving design optimization problems, including but not limited to:

• Shape or topology optimization

• Multidisciplinary design optimization

• Multiphysics design optimization

• System-level or multi-component optimization

• Implement prototypes to test and demonstrate the ideas and methods

• Work with both open-source libraries and in-house libraries to develop the prototypes

• Write documentation of the work, either as academic publication or internal white paper

• Contribute to the technical expertise of the SOS Group by conducting learning sessions

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other related disciplines

• Experience and excellent knowledge of C++ and Python

• Experience in implementing numerical methods for solving partial differential equations and gradient-based optimization algorithms

• Experience in one of the following optimization topics: shape or topology optimization, multidisciplinary design optimization, multi-physics design optimization, system-level or multi-component optimization

• Experience in publishing at top-tier conferences and journals

Description: We are seeking highly skilled and imaginative 3D visualization intern to help revolutionize the future of Nissan and Infiniti through their unique digital visualization approaches. The primary focus will be digitally rendering 3D concepts that surpass traditional limits. You will have the freedom to use advanced methods to explore new ideas that sha­pe the future of these iconic brands. Our mission is to dream, hypothesize, and actualize advanced concepts.

Essential Job Functions:

• Developing conceptual storyboarding, creating still 3D imagery, and 3D animations via Blender and Unreal Engine 5 applications.
• Responsible for creating 3D still and animated visual assets for NS6 advanced design proposals.
• Work in a fast-paced, collaborative, multiple projects, creative environment with a high level of responsibility for each designer.
• Strong understanding of advanced design methodologies and the ability to integrate them into practical design solutions.
• Great interest and/or knowledge of Artificial intelligence software/trends, 3D rendering softwares.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Skillsets:

• Strong visual communication skills via 2D & 3D sketching, great story telling skills, strong sense of 3D space, adventurous to find new design communication methods and ambitious to innovate design. 
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Blender, Premier pro; VR capabilities are a plus.
• Proficient using Windows PC, assembling presentation decks in Microsoft PowerPoint, use of Microsoft Word and Outlook.
