This role will help lead the development of Lancashire and South Cumbria Secure Data Environment as part of the national data for R&D programme and will ensure appropriate alignment with the Northwest Secure Data Environment Programme.
You should have subject matter expertise in designing cloud and hybrid solutions that run on Microsoft Azure, including compute, network, storage, monitoring, and security. You should have expertise in developing and managing Azure solutions including containerised applications.
This position can be offered as a job share/secondment 2.5 day per week if 2 suitable candidates are found
The Trust has a number of programmes aimed at digitally enabling our clinical services. This role will focus on our Azure cloud services and how we expand our Azure hosted services
You will work in a newly established Lancashire and South Cumbria Data Science team. It will be your responsibility todesign and build cloud based solutions which will enhance patient care.
You will also work with best of breed partners across the industry including Microsoft, AWS and partner, andNorth West NHS Partners and Universities.

• Deliver Azure or Cloud based solutions in conjunction with our partners, developers, Infrastructure specialists
• Deliver high levels of technology assurance and high levels of customer satisfaction
• Convert the technical requirements of our trusted research and analytics environment into the architecture and design that will guide the final platform which will be built jointly with Microsoft TRE software engineering team and Microsoft-certified partners.

• Manage the Data Science and Trusted Research Analytics Environment including containerised applications.
• Ensure the best return on investment is achieved through technology-enabled service transformation
• Negotiate and drive best value from technology investment, contracts and outsourcing arrangements
• Able to make effective use of available technology
• Engage effectively with stakeholder groups at all levels
• Acting as the primary lead for all complex technical issues relating to the complex multi-platform and multi-user infrastructure environments.
• Responsible for input into security of all key infrastructure systems, devices and networks
• Maintain relationships with key partners such as Vmware, Microsoft, Dell, Cisco & Netapp.
• Develop and introduce a comprehensive system maintenance and upgrade plan for all key systems to ensure all technology stacks are maintained at the latest release levels.
• Introduce and maintain disaster recovery plans and tests across all key infrastructure stacks in conjunction with IT managers, technical leads and suppliers
• Identify key risks and update the risk register to ensure all risks are flagged and managed
• Develop the technology capital investment plan in conjunction with the technology services management team
• Driving change for technology across the Trust and wider IT health economy, regionally and nationally
• Reporting, documenting, ensuring high levels of change control and monitoring all aspects of the technology stack and interdependent system
• Actively develop internal and external working relationships to facilitate success
• Assist in the development of business cases and funding applications as the need or opportunity arises such as the NHS England digital tech fund
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and trends and developments in areas of interest to the organisation by reading relevant academic research, publications and suppliers information, attending conferences and seminars
• Plans, arranges and controls meetings, lead teams in work streams requiring resources from the technical and support teams
