About the Opportunity:
The Department of Art + Design in the College of Arts, Media and Design, invites applications for non-tenure track Teaching Professors at the rank of Assistant, or Associate, or Full.
We seek candidates with a record of excellent creative practice, innovative pedagogy, significant exhibited and/or published work and relevant teaching experience in any of the fields of graphic-, interaction-, information-, experience design; data visualization, creative technologies, and design process and theory. Candidates should demonstrate a strong design practice to address social and environmental issues and be interested in and capable of delivering undergraduate fundamentals and mid- to upper-level undergraduate, as well as graduate courses in our Design programs.
Qualifications:
Candidates must have teaching experience at the college level and a terminal degree in the areas of art or design (PhD, MFA, or MDes) completed prior to the start of the appointment. Candidates should demonstrate a record of excellent creative practice, innovative pedagogy, significant exhibited and/or published work and relevant teaching experience.
Responsibilities:
The teaching load is 3 classes per semester with the possibility of summer classes for extra compensation. In addition to teaching, all full-time faculty are expected to contribute to the cultural life and function of the program through service commitments on committees, special projects, and student advising and engagement activities. The position's standard duties consist of 80% teaching, 10% service and 10% creative practice.
