Role: Regional Design Manager

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Regional Design Manager to join our client, a market leader in the water industry. This dynamic position will focus on managing the Thames Water framework for a tier 1 contractor, ensuring that design projects are executed efficiently and meet all required standards.
As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the design phase of water treatment projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the design process for water treatment projects within the Thames Water framework, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Coordinating with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders to define design requirements and objectives.
- Reviewing project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive design strategies and schedules.
- Conducting design reviews and ensuring that all designs are optimised for constructability, operability, and maintainability.
- Identifying and resolving any issues or discrepancies during the design phase.
- Providing technical support and guidance to the project team during design development and handover.
- Ensuring all design documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.
- Monitoring and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations and industry standards.
- Supporting the training and development of junior design engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing the design of water treatment projects.
- Extensive knowledge of design processes and methodologies within the water sector.
- Strong technical and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Familiarity with relevant design software and tools.
- Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety regulations.
- Previous experience in water and wastewater treatment plants and infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in mentoring and developing junior engineers.
