Join our dynamic Network Engineering Team as a Sr. Network Wireless Engineer and contribute to our company's journey in reshaping how we conduct business. As a key Engineering team member, you will provide technical leadership in the planning, execution, and support of strategic initiatives, in this critical role, you will shape our technology direction and influence decisions across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and influence across multiple organizations to solution business and technical problems, while building and maintaining alignment with our partner teams
- Lead the development of Nordstrom’s Wireless strategy supporting the shopping and fulfillment experience of our customers, and productivity of our team members.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and teams across all areas of our business to build a scalable and high performing technology platform that supports innovation and competitive advantage.
- Collaborate cross functionally develop strategy and contribute to team road maps.
- Coach at all levels and mentor teams in the application of engineering principles to achieve design goals and meet a high-quality bar.
- Proactively identify areas of improvement in our designs, implementations, and processes to avoid production downtime and drive a culture of Operational Excellence
- Identifies opportunities to support continuous improvement through performance instrumentation, automation, practical standards and KPI’s.
- SME for resolving high impact production incidents in a timely manner.
- Lead the development or modification of network architectures to improve infrastructure efficiency and resource utilization.
- Contribute to the design of workflows and automation solutions for platform, system, and deployment enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support and manage network infrastructure deployments.
- Innovate and drive cost management by developing network systems and tools that meet customer and business needs.
- Gather and define requirements, lead infrastructure and application design, and serve as the primary technical expert for projects.
- Develop forward-looking strategies to meet business needs and maintain technical currency.
- Establish and maintain standards for build, configuration, and recovery documentation while ensuring compliance.
- Act as a lead communicator, fostering ongoing communication with stakeholders at all levels and representing the organization's technical capabilities and strategic direction.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive enterprise network engineering experience with deep technical knowledge across multiple network technology domains with emphasis on Wireless Architecture
- Proven track record in designing and delivering large-scale wireless solutions for diverse business stakeholders.
- Extensive experience in wireless solution with IEEE 802.11 standards, encryption, WIDS, rogue detection, 802.1x, RADIUS, EAP Method, wireless client chipset/driver, RF engineering for wireless planning, along with multi-vendor technologies
- Experience in working with public cloud solutions such as AWS, Azure and GPC.
- Experience with network analysis and discovery tools
- Extensive experience with various wireless tools such as Spectrum Analyzer, Protocol Analyzer, and Site Survey Tools
- Initiative-taking and entrepreneurial mindset, capable of aligning business opportunities with flexible technology strategies.
- Effective communication skills, capable of driving business strategy while managing technical complexity.
- Experience developing and maintaining effective partnerships with customers, stakeholders, and technical leaders.
- High energy and positive outlook, with a resourceful problem-solving approach and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Understanding of network and network security issues and threats, with expertise in network fundamentals and common wireless protocols (n, ac, ax).
- Determine effective measurement of device performance on wireless infrastructure.
- Experience performing network traffic analysis, security architecture reviews, and evaluating network security solutions.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of OSI layers 1-4, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), switching (e.g., STP, VLAN), enterprise wireless, and cloud networking.
- Experience in SDWAN technologies and how they are designed, implemented, and supported. Key experience in traffic steering analysis.
- Experience in developing network architecture and technology, building, and maintaining high-performance data center networks, and scaling network engineering in distributed systems.
- Familiarity with automation workflows, processes, and configuration management for enterprise network devices.
- Ability to anticipate and adapt to changing risks and effectively communicate strategic goals and tactical changes to stakeholders.
- Experience presenting and working with leadership at all levels.
- Proficiency in driving network automation and developing process models to enhance network operations.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous delivery, process improvement, and operational excellence.

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Washington: $142,000 - $220,500 annually (depending on experience)
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
