About the Role (your why)
The Domain Architect is a diverse role and incorporates the technical leadership and domain expertise for their technology function within the Technology Domain within the Internal Corporate IT Team. This role will ensure systems, offerings, and processes are fit-for-purpose and designed to meet our contracted services across our technology towers of responsibility. The Domain Architect will provide expertise on client engagements, manage small to medium technical programs, and develop, coordinate and deliver all aspects of customer IT needs or parts of large customer engagements. This role includes building roadmaps and doing gap analysis.
What you’ll do
- Providing advanced technical support and advice to others on engagement/program during proposal writing, solution design and implementation.
- Leading team members, third parties, and technological counterparts in client organisations in the integration of technological methodologies and components of projects.
- Ensuring and being accountable for the technical integrity of the design, in accordance with the clients' requirements.
- Developing and assisting in the development of rapid prototyping demonstrations. Managing day-to-day technical program or segment activities, including relationships with the client, managing and reviewing assigned consulting staff.
- Developing and delivering client and internal technical presentations.
- Ensuring new or supported systems are designed to meet and integrate with organisation requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal stipulations, environmental policies and general duty of care.
- Designing, developing and documenting complex infrastructure architectures for the specific domain that meet the evolving IT requirements of our customers.
- Contributing to the Major Incident & Business Continuity plan for Technology Operations.
- Providing architectural assurance for proposed changes to customers’ environment.
- Defining and documenting network architecture within guidelines set by the organisation's chief IT architects/gurus.
- Developing comprehensive technical reports outlining proposed methodologies to achieve desired outcomes.
- Providing technical planning advice to IT management in relation to their needs, current system performance and required solution.
- Maintaining an excellent knowledge of industry/vendor products and solutions within the networking/infrastructure sphere.
- Evaluating the potential of new products to enhance or supersede existing network architecture.
- Providing ongoing support and guidance associated with the organisation's existing networking architecture.
- Reviewing technical infrastructure or system designs to ensure consistency with set standards and policies.
- Providing technical planning advice to business units in relation to their needs, including up front analysis of needs and hardware/software recommendations.
- Ensuring that systems comply with government legislation and standards in those countries in which Datacom operates.
- Responsible for implementing a principle driven health and safety culture that cares for employees and ensures their safety in line with Datacom policy.
What you’ll bring
- Working knowledge of industry best practice relating to Industry standards, ITIL, ISO 27001 and Zero Trust
- Experience in an IT contracting environment.
- Understand of ITAM, IT Asset Management
- Experience in financial modelling for domain solutions.
- Experience with developing and presenting solution options with consideration of financial impacts.
- Proven experience with developing Rodmaps
- Domain Architect experience.
- Developing project management skills. Analytical, communication, and presentation ability.
