Carbon60 are recruiting for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to work with global supplier of laser processing tools. They are a unique business based in Abingdon, suppling bespoke special purpose machinery that incorporate laser technology.

These senior electrical design engineer position is on a permanent basis and has become available due to continued growth and expansion. The ideal candidate will be someone that has a proven track record of delivering electrical distribution and control systems for special purpose machinery.

Role Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for designing LV distribution and control systems for bespoke machines which are utilised within a production/manufacturing environment.

• Produce single line and schematic diagrams using Solidworks electrical.
• Provide electrical calculations where appropriate.
• Create and maintain documentation for project technical file.
• Work with mechanical design department to produce panel layouts and wiring routes.
• PLC program design, implementation, and testing to devise solutions.
• Interpret customer supplied technical documentation.
• Electrical fault finding
• Electrical safety testing

Skills and Experience required:

• Relevant technical qualification in electrical engineering e.g., Degree/ HND
• Proven track record of delivering electrical distribution and control systems for special bespoke machinery.
• Sound knowledge of electrical CAD software, ideally SolidWorks but other packages considered.
• PLC programming/ coding experience
• Able to carry out electrical safety testing.
