The 3D Equipment CAD Designer is responsible for creating detailed and accurate 3D models and technical drawings of equipment and machinery using computer-aided design (CAD) software. They work closely with engineers, product developers, and other stakeholders to transform conceptual ideas and designs into functional and manufacturable products. The role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in CAD software tools
What you will be doing...
· 3D Modeling: Create precise and detailed 3D models of equipment and machinery components using CAD software. Ensure the models are accurate, functional, and in compliance with design specifications.
· Technical Drawings: Generate comprehensive technical drawings, including isometric, and exploded views, detailing dimensions, materials, and assembly instructions. Provide clear and concise documentation for manufacturing processes.
· Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, product developers, and other team members to understand design requirements, iterate on designs, and incorporate feedback to refine the models.
· Prototyping Support: Work closely with the prototyping team to develop physical prototypes based on the 3D models. Provide necessary design modifications and improvements based on prototype testing and feedback.
· Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks on 3D models and technical drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to industry standards and company guidelines.
· Software Proficiency: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in CAD software and techniques. Continuously improve skills and expertise in using various CAD tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.
· Design Optimization: Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, and manufacturability improvements. Collaborate with the engineering team to implement these enhancements
· Documentation: Maintain organized records of design files, revisions, and related documentation. Ensure version control and proper documentation practices are followed.
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
· A good teammate with good communications skills and strong work ethics.
· Flexible traveling on project assignments
· Proven experience as a CAD designer, preferably in the field of equipment or machinery design.
· Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
· Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
