Job Description:

The Administrative Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and facilitating patient care functions within the hospital. The individual in this role demonstrates advanced knowledge to manage the patient care operations in the absence of the Vice Presidents, Directors, and Department Managers. This leadership role includes responsibility for establishing meaningful communication systems, assuring effective resources management, and coordinating patient placement and care processes across multiple departments.

From the moment an emergency medical situation occurs, we are ready to help with the highest level of children’s medical care possible. Helen Devos Children’s Hospital is a Level I trauma center. While we treat minor illnesses and injuries, we are also prepared with a pediatric trauma care team that provides care for severe injuries. We’re proud to have the only pediatric emergency department in West Michigan, which is designed specifically for children and staffed by experts in pediatric emergency medicine. Recognized as experts in pediatric trauma and burn care with specially trained physicians and nurses available 24 hours a day to care for unexpected or severe injuries.

About the unit

We are 1 of 3 offices in the Neuro service line of Corewell Health, specifically Neurosciences. Our team supports four subspecialties, including Epilepsy, Neurosurgery, Neurovascular, and Movement Disorders. We are an outpatient office that provides extensive continuing care for a variety of patients, including those with epileptic and non-epileptic seizures, strokes and aneurysms, ailments of the spine and brain, and Parkinson's Disease. While our clinic is outpatient, our team works closely with the inpatient Neurosurgery/Neurovascular/Epilepsy teams at Butterworth Hospital to round out an outstanding care team for our patients. We operate during business hours Monday through Friday (No Weekends or Holidays!) We have a diverse team that is devoted to managing care for patients and building our culture every day! About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. Scope of work

Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider.  Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.

Position Summary: 

The Supply Clerk distributes all supplies to departments and/or patients, maintains inventory, stocks shelves, handles freight, daily mail and assists with inventory counts.  In addition to focusing on delivering quality patient care, the Supply Clerk will also focus on revenue and expense factors.  This position is responsible for all patient charging of supplies that come out of Central Service inventory, which has a direct effect on the revenue of the hospital.  Accurate data entry and accurate supply issues are essential for the financial success of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Previous experience in material management with emphasis on supply and inventory control.
• Preferred: Two years’ experience in healthcare materials management
• Preferred: Two years’ experience in a healthcare environment with emphasis on inventory control and medical terminology

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for entering department supply orders, picking order from stock and delivering to the appropriate department.
• Inventory patient charge and department non-charge carts with a hand held device when needed and replenish supplies daily
• Unpack supplies as received for restock into inventory and place the appropriate charge stickers.
• Sort and distribute daily mail for all hospital departments and physicians.
• Assist all customers that come in for supplies and/or questions
• Maintain storeroom and notify inventory agent of daily supplies to be ordered
• Review supply orders for discrepancies in inventory quantities and perform cycle counts upon request

  Qualifications:

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. GENERAL SUMMARY:

Primarily responsible for delivery of infusion medications, supplies, and equipment to patients in their homes; picking and packing of supplies and equipment; receiving orders from vendors and putting stock away; pick-up of equipment when patients discontinue service; and cleaning, testing, and restocking of equipment.
