Midlothian Council is recruiting a Personal Assistant for the Place Directorate. The post holder will be expected to demonstrate their previous experience of working in an organisation of similar size and complexity.
The post holder will support the effective running of the Place Directorate, in particular supporting Directors and Chief Officers with diary management, meeting administration and responding to complex service requests and complaints.
The post holder should be competent in all elements of Microsoft, be able to communicate effectively and conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner, representing senior officers to both internal and external customers.
The jobholder requires a minimum qualification to HNC/SVQ3 level in Business Studies, Office Management or Administration or an acceptable equivalent qualification or relevant experience to this post.
Knowledge of word processing/spreadsheets/keyboard, minute taking to multi-agency level and administrative skills are essential.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on you working 36 hours over 52 weeks per year the minimum actual salary for this position is £28,984.95 per annum.
Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard. This requires completion of a disclosure check for all employees who can access official information. The fee for this PSN Disclosure check will be met by you.
