The primary purpose of this position is: As an Air Reserve Technician (ART), accomplishes a variety of duties involving assisting in determining unit's readiness and capability to perform its peacetime/wartime mission, to support programs and systems which ensure reserve members are properly trained and equipped, to provide peacetime/wartime medical support, and to provide training to reserve members in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

Duties:
1: Provides direct support to the senior ART in planning, directing, implementing, and controlling all elements of the medical unit on a day-to-day basis.
2: Provides support toward conducting studies, collecting data and identifying trends.
3: Assists in reviewing status of training and personnel assets for Status of Resource and Training System (SORTS) reporting/Annual Tour.
4: Responsible for tracking of unit funds and medica/non-medical supply expenditures and activities. Monitors compliance with medical requirements to ensure timely completion and medical qualification of assigned personnel.
5: Responsible for effective management and execution of unit personnel programs. Responsible for information management processes within the unit.

Monitors and oversees the Private Organization (PO) program. • Manages and maintains records for competency folders on all clinic personnel, to include FPPE/OPPE, performance appraisals, TMS training and continuing education; assists in the preparation of employee travel paperwork and claims.
• Maintains records on personnel actions, education, congressional inquiries, and affiliations with many colleges through multiple disciplines.
• Plans and performs general support services, such as coordination and assignment of clerical duties, volunteer program. VA work-study program, without compensation appointments, and requests funds for fund control points.
• Serves as human resources liaison for all units of the clinics; coordinates creation and update of position descriptions and functional statements; coordinates paperwork for employee awards, authorized absences, advanced sick leave and family medical leave.
• Acts as timekeeper in the absence of primary timekeeper for time and attendance units in the clinic.
• Performs the functions and duties of the PIV sponsor for the outpatient clinic and adjacent community based outpatient clinics.
• Liaison for Veterans Service Offices, DAV, and all other veteran organizations.

• Performs clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization. Incumbent acts as office manager for HQ AMC/CS ensuring all administrative practices and procedures used by action officers and administrative personnel in 21 directorates are consistent with those of the organization.
• Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, and other material submitted from the 21 directorates for the Chief of Staff's signature. Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents with complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, revising databases or spreadsheets.
• Maintains the Chief of Staff calendar, coordinates meeting arrangements, and schedules meeting and/or conferences including those involving staff from outside the immediate office. Independently notes and follows up on commitments made at meetings and conferences by staff members.
• Receives telephone calls, greets visitors and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits, screening those that can be handled without supervisor's help. Based upon detailed knowledge of the HQ AMC staff organization and its programs and directorates, determines appropriate action.
