We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Company Secretary to join our Company Secretariat team on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract or secondment opportunity. The role will have flexibility to combine home and office working.
The successful candidate will combine an excellent knowledge of corporate governance, legislation and regulation, with exceptional communication and organisational skills.
The post holder together with the Director of Corporate Affairs have specific responsibilities to ensure the Council of Governors, the Trust Board and its committees operate smoothly and effectively whilst contributing to establishing and maintaining corporate governance processes at the highest standards of probity and in accordance align with regulatory and legislative requirements.
You will assist the Director of Corporate Affairs with the oversight and monitoring of the Trust’s governance procedures to ensure the Trust complies with the statutory requirements of health service legislation, the terms of its authorisation and complies with best practice, as detailed in the Foundation Trust Code of Governance.
Support and when required deputise for the Director of Corporate Affairs in providing the necessary governance expertise to ensure that the Trust complies with relevant legislation and guidance issued by NHS Improvement, Department of Health and other regulatory bodies.
To provide the full range of professional assistance to the Director of Corporate Affairs, in support of the administration of the Trust’s corporate governance agenda. The post holder will ensure that the Council of Governors, the Trust Board and its committees operate smoothly and effectively. Together with the Director of Corporate Affairs they will ensure that all corporate governance activities are undertaken to the highest standards of probity and according to regulatory and legislative requirements.
The post holder is required to work under their own authority and initiative, planning and prioritising their own time to ensure that deadlines are met. The post holder must be able to embrace working in a dynamic and demanding office environment.
