Pay rate: £10.42 per hour PAYE/National Minimum Wage applies
Hours per week: 37 Monday to Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 2-3 months
City: BEVERLEY, East Riding of Yorkshire
A Support Services Assistant is required to undertake general administrative and clerical functions in relation to supporting specific Directorate and Service functions.
Key responsibilities:
Filing, record keeping and post, scanning and processing work on document management systems.
Check and process data, using manual and IT systems, including office and specific packages – spreadsheets, databases and word processing.
Deal with deliveries of goods and services, stationery and stock control, invoice and payment processing, payroll processing, billing and recharging, and use of procurement and financial systems (manual and IT).
Telephone answering, dealing with correspondence, responding to customer enquiries and requests, taking payments, photocopying and document handling.
User testing on Uniform/EDRMS prior to upgrades/updates – and provide feedback.
Handle post in and out of the service. Process overtime forms.
Manage multiple email accounts, providing advice and guidance to customers.
Specialised word processing and data input onto IT systems, including specialist knowledge of word, databases and spreadsheets.
Assist in personnel support related tasks – processing data for example sickness monitoring, annual leave etc. Minute taking, producing reports from pay/personnel systems, assisting in the recruitment and selection process, processing e-forms etc.
Cash handling -sales, petty cash, e-payments, banking income and reconciliation duties.
Provide clerical duties and support to PER and/or specific service-related functions, procedures and/or systems – involving dedicated inputting, processing, checking and reporting. Provide advice and guidance to customers on planning related matters.

Qualifications:
At least four (or equivalent) GCSE’s – to include English and Maths.
NVQ Level 2 minimum Business Admin desirable.
Experience:
Experience of administration and clerical work, personnel related tasks.
Experience of cash handling desirable.
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.
Skills & Abilities:
Organised, accurate and timely.
Pleasant and enthusiastic manner/flexible.
Self-motivated and a team player.
Presentable and punctual.
Minute taking skills and experience.
Strong confidentiality skills.
Good communication and inter-personal skills – written and verbal.
