• Primary coverage for the BXCI credit trading desk. Will sit on credit trading desk and provide advice to traders and business management as well as Legal & Compliance, IT, and Operations.

• Manage all aspects of trade restrictions including analyzing potential MNPI, clearing trades, and maintaining the restricted list on an ongoing basis.

• Facilitate internal wall crosses among Blackstone’s business units. Work with Legal & Compliance colleagues across other Blackstone business units to promote consistency.

• Devise, initiate, maintain, and revise compliance and regulatory policies, procedures, controls, and training based on the specific needs of the business and current regulatory requirements particularly ones related to confidential and MNPI.

• Manage Expert Network policies and procedures; provide oversight of calls.

• Review allocations of investments.

• Coordinate with other Compliance team members on compliance and regulatory matters: SEC and CFTC registrations, ERISA, and federal, state and international securities laws (including the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933 and the Exchange Act of 1934)

• Work with team in responding to requests from regulators, preparing for regulatory examinations, and conducting mock examinations in conjunction with external consultants and counsel.

Qualifications:

• An attorney with 4+ years of experience in a law firm, regulator, and/or as a compliance professional (preferably at an asset manager). Experience in a control room or sitting on a trading desk is strongly preferred.

• Must evidence a solid understanding of insider trading law, possess ability to independently perform analysis of information to determine whether it potentially constitutes MNPI, and document analysis in a clear and organized manner.

• Ability to be proactive in novel situations and to independently manage projects to conclusion. 

• Must be a strong and independent thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Demonstrated experience liaising between business team members and legal and compliance colleagues.

• Must have a tolerance for ambiguity, confidence and a pragmatic, conscientious work ethic.

The Compliance Manager will work on a variety of compliance matters pertaining to Blackstone’s Private Equity funds. Primary job responsibilities will include:

• Help develop, revise, and maintain compliance and regulatory policies, procedures and controls taking into account the specific needs of the Private Equity business, firm-wide policies and practices, and evolving legal and regulatory requirements

• Assist with compliance testing and coordination with an outside compliance consultant for testing, including in connection with Private Equity’s annual compliance review

• Reviewing and processing wall-cross requests and assisting with the administration of the firm’s internal information walls

• Ensure compliance with investor side letter obligations

• Serve as the primary point of escalation for matters pertaining to fund marketing and LP communications

• Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual LP disclosures and provide compliance support for periodic investor reporting

• Oversee responses to third-party AML, KYC and sanctions compliance requests pertaining to the Private Equity funds and their investments

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of professional compliance and or law firm experience (preferably covering asset management or at a regulatory consulting firm)

• Experience with private funds and related regulatory filings

• Possess interest in financial markets and compliance processes with an ability to step in and work directly with business stakeholders

The Assistant Vice President will work on a variety of legal and compliance-related matters to support the Blackstone Credit & Insurance investment businesses described above. Primary job responsibilities include:

• Manage legal aspects of new bespoke product launches, including structuring, drafting and negotiation of fund and investment management documents, review and drafting of disclosures and operational setup of new products

• Assist in ongoing legal aspects of operating existing investment funds, including review of contractual provisions, preparing amendments and updating and revising of investment vehicles’ offering materials.

Qualifications:

• BXCI is seeking an attorney with 3+ years of experience in a law firm to join a legal team doing challenging work in a dynamic environment. 

• Experience with fund formation and leveraged finance, M&A, restructuring or capital markets transactions is preferred.

The Regulatory Attorney will work on a wide range of legal and compliance matters involving the investment business described above. Primary job responsibilities include:

• Work closely with the CCO and investment team to provide broad support for the Compliance Program for Blackstone’s $40+ billion Infrastructure business, team members, and investment portfolio consistent with applicable law and regulation (with particular focus on the U.S., U.K. and European Union)

• Responsible for the development, maintenance and delivery of compliance training to investment and support teams on key regulatory topics for new and existing employees; maintain training records; and ensure consistency with other Blackstone businesses

• Review, prepare and oversee adherence to third-party advisor / consultant agreements and engagement letters (including for Blackstone Executive, Senior and Operating Advisors)

• Work with investment and asset management teams, senior leadership, and legal and compliance colleagues throughout the transaction lifecycle (including pre-acquisition diligence, preparation for committee reviews, regulatory filings, and post-acquisition obligations)

Qualifications:

• An attorney with 6+ years of experience at a law firm and/or as a compliance professional (preferably at an asset manager or at a regulatory consulting firm)

• Familiarity with SEC, CFTC, and European private placement registration processes; and federal, state and international securities law and regulation (including the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 (and updates to the Marketing Rule), ERISA, the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive, and the EU Market Abuse Regulation (and similar anti-insider trading regimes))

• Strong preference for experience as a funds or regulatory attorney working with (a) private fund operating documents including (LPAs, PPMs, and subscription agreements); (b) private fund service provider agreements; and (c) investor eligibility requirements; experience with both private equity and hedge fund structures is a plus

• Capacity to understand difficult and complex compliance, legal and business problems and address with commercially actionable work plans

• Demonstrated experience liaising between business team members (e.g., investment, asset management, marketing) and firm-wide corporate groups (e.g., accounting, finance, operations, tax)

• Superb organizational skills; demonstrated strong writing ability; and strong interpersonal communications skills

• Ability to manage projects independently to conclusion from conception to execution, including coordination and oversight of external consultants and counsel

• Compliance experience with registered funds, board roles, and service providers is a plus

• An understanding of derivatives transactions (including currency hedging and interest rate swaps) is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing monthly / daily NAV and portfolio reconciliation process; investigating and resolving discrepancies with administrators and internal operations teams
• Preparing and reviewing capital calls and distributions allocations
• Calculating management fee, distributions, waterfall allocations, and IRR
• Preparing and reviewing expense allocations and payments
• Monitoring expenses and preparing budgets
• Reviewing financial statements and regulatory reporting
• Maintaining information and reconciling loan investments and debt financings in Investran to loan tracking models
• Preparing and reviewing fund forecasts, performance estimates, attributions, and other ad-hoc projects
• Overseeing the calculations and managing wire payments for various firm revenues, including management fees and incentive fees
• Reviewing fund legal documents and assisting in building processes and templates for new fund launches
• Liaising with the Investment and Operation teams to review and enhance internal and investor reporting
• Assisting in review of investor statements, quarterly investment letters, and internal reporting
• Maintaining accounting related data (capital, expenses, P&L) in internal systems
• Coordinating with external auditors for the year-end audit process
• Overseeing and reviewing the work of the offshore team and various administrators

Qualifications:

• Advanced Excel skills required
• 3+ years of public accounting / private equity experience, preferably public accounting and asset management

Job Title: Global Fund Finance – BREDS Drawdowns - Associate

In this role, responsibilities include:

• Preparation and oversight of quarterly NAV and portfolio reconciliation process; investigating and resolving discrepancies with internal operations teams

• Maintain detailed capital account balances for partners 
• Preparing and reviewing capital calls and distributions allocations

• Assist in tracking investment cost and monitoring the fair value of the investments 
• Maintaining information and reconciling loan investments and debt financings in Investran to internal Ops system.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of cybersecurity and business. This role is designed to operate and continue to build a program that measures and advises on the security posture of Blackstone’s global portfolio of companies.

As a senior member of the team, you will own relationships with business unit leaders and company executives in order to drive cyber improvements throughout their portfolio of companies and advise on investments.  As a trusted advisor you will lead crisis response efforts, cyber due diligence, and share knowledge about our portfolio program and its methodology. Our work is a mix of hands-on program operations and advisory responsibilities that requires exceptional communication skills in order to interact with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of an organization.

Job Functions

• Use our methodology to drive measurable cyber improvements across sections of the portfolio

• Counsel and share knowledge about our methodology with senior executives and peers

• Lead through crisis situations with the ability to interface with technical/non-tech stakeholders

• Assess and articulate cybersecurity risk as part of investment due diligence

• Provide opinion/subject matter expertise on investment opportunities in cybersecurity companies

• Assess, interview, and advise companies across all industries about cybersecurity practices

• Perform briefings about cybersecurity best practices to company leadership and technical teams

• Interface with 3rd parties to drive ongoing cybersecurity initiatives across the portfolio

• Use business intelligence tools to create reporting and maintain metrics using collected data

• Own and drive select program functions and collaborate with teammates as assigned

Related Skills and Qualifications

• 5 + years of experience in a mix of hands-on and advisory/leadership cyber role

• Broad subject-matter experience and able to field discussions across the spectrum of cybersecurity whether technical or strategic

• Demonstrated success executing across multiple initiatives, exceptional time management skills and comfort navigating uncertainty

• Ability and desire to work as a mentor to clients and junior team members

• Incident Response experience in either a technical, consultative, or leadership capacity

• Prior consultative/internal experience with senior technical and non-technical executives

• Ability to manipulate data with business intelligence tools (SQL and Tableau).

• Strong understanding of data modeling, scripting/coding experience a plus.

• Self-starter, ability to prioritize work, propose and implement improvements

• Highly effective communicator both verbally and in writing

• Strong time management skills and entrepreneurial attitude

• B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related technology field. M.S. a plus
