Duties include:

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the Accounting Section relative to matters of policy, interpretation of regulations and procedures which are of greater than average difficulty.
• Planning, establishing, and maintaining a commercial-type double entry accounting system covering several appropriations, one revolving fund, general post funds, personal funds of patients, research, grants and construction appropriations, the overall budget is over $520,000,000.
• Serves as technical accounting advisor to the Chief Financial Officer and station management; including advising or proper procedures to be followed when procedures have not been disseminated or must be developed locally to meet station needs, is often called upon to attend meetings related to financial matters and inter-service relations.
• As a principal staff member of Fiscal Service, incumbent is a member of VASNHCS committees and attends both formal and informal management meetings.
• Advises VASNHCS on proper accounting procedures to ensure that the data conforms to regulations.
• Performs financial audits, analysis, and evaluations of the financial operations and related procedures as part of the Fiscal Service Quality Assurance System.
• Verifying, analyzing and/or reconciling a very large number of computer generated reports validating General Ledger control accounts to their related subsidiary records maintained in Fiscal, Supply, Voluntary Services, Medical Administration, Research, Prosthetics and Engineering and Facilities Management Services.
• Reviews present computer system and recommends and implements changes and improvements as needed to interface with other computer systems, to meet other services' and supported facilities' needs arid requirements and to improve the overall functions of the Accounting Section.
• Responsible for the complete management of the section, identifying the needs of the section, including but not limited to manpower, equipment, supplies, and space, as well as identify methods to reduce costs in these areas.
• The incumbent may cover during the absence of the Assistant Fiscal Officer.

Performs highly complex managerial work administering the daily operations and activities for the Program Review Branch, utilizing the Generally Accepted Government Accounting Standards (GAGAS) or other auditing standards adopted by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Manages the activities of staff auditors, ensuring the collection, analysis, interpretation, and documentation of information is sufficient to support audit results through reviewing and approving audit programs, priorities, scope, and methodologies for accomplishment of audit objectives; oversees audit activities to ensure all audit program steps are completed as planned; and monitors performance of audit activities to ensure accuracy of results in conformance with professional auditing standards.

Evaluates the results of audit findings and management responses to recommendations, timing, and extent of follow-up activities; oversees follow-up activities to ascertain if appropriate action is taken on reported audit findings; conducts quality assurance reviews of completed audits to ensure compliance with applicable standards; evaluates quality assurance reviews to identify potential improvements in operations; and identifies staff development needs and prepares and presents training to improve staff performance in conformance with professional auditing standards.

Develops training materials and presents training to internal auditors, field staff, and agency leadership.

Oversee the development of technical data, estimates, statistics, suggestion, and other information useful to higher level managers in determining which goals and objectives to emphasize.

The M&A Accounting Operations team supports company-wide strategic initiatives such as those revolving around our business model transformation, mergers and acquisitions and digital financial transformation.  The M&A Accounting Operations Manager will support the M&A Accounting Operations Senior Manager for revenue operations in all mergers and acquisitions and will be instrumental in financial quote to collect integration of acquired companies. In this role you will be responsible for revenue management of unintegrated entities and partner with stakeholders across a variety of finance, operations and IT organizations to solve critical finance and business objectives on a variety of dynamic projects. 

Responsibilities

• Partner with finance, operations, IT and business functional leads to drive mergers and acquisitions from initial term sheet through diligence, close, valuation, financial reporting and until full product and financial integration

• Manage through others and influence cross-functional team members to achieve project goals

• Analyze fit/gap of acquired company finance processes, controls, policies and procedures as compared to Autodesk standards and provide guidance to integration team on necessary changes

• Develop strong stakeholder relationships and maintain effective communication channels

Minimum Qualifications

• CPA license

• Hands-on experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Rev Pro etc.)

• 7+ years relevant work experience, preferably a mix of public accounting and private industry

• Knowledge of a broad range of revenue (ASC 606) and accounting concepts. Ability to discuss these topics with non-finance stakeholders

Position Overview

The Corporate Accounting team is seeking a well-rounded, strong performer who will be a key contributor to the worldwide close process. The ideal candidate has corporate and/or public accounting experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to produce high quality work in a high energy team environment. The position can be located anywhere on the west coast and will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager. This role presents an outstanding growth opportunity for candidates who are looking to develop their experience in a Controllership organization.

Responsibilities

• Play an integral part in the worldwide close process through preparing, analyzing and reviewing assigned general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and other analysis to support the consolidated financial statements

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP for various accounting areas (for example, mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, centralized allocations, and quarter-end accruals). Prepare and review accounting entries as appropriate

• Work closely with business partners and accounting teams worldwide to understand changes in the business and statutory requirements which impact US GAAP accounting areas

• Prepare flux analyses and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and schedules for management and external auditors as appropriate

• Prepare analysis of non-departmental costs for FP&A forecasts

• Review and prepare various cost allocations by functions

• Analyze technical accounting issues under US GAAP and prepare accounting memos addressing technical issues as required

• Analyze technical accounting issues and provide guidance to the Finance community, as required

• Identify opportunities for process improvements to optimize the financial close process. These projects include information systems improvements as well as creating efficiencies with manual processes

Minimum Requirements

• BA in Accounting or Finance with proven academic excellence

• 5+ years of related experience (minimum 2 years of public accounting experience a plus)

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA qualification required

Position Overview

The M&A Accounting Operations team supports company-wide strategic initiatives such as those revolving around our business model transformation, mergers and acquisitions and digital financial transformation. The Senior Revenue Analyst will report to the M&A Accounting Operations Senior Manager to support revenue operations for all mergers and acquisitions in addition to traditional accounting tasks. This position can work remotely from anywhere in the USA.

Responsibilities  

• Support M&A Accounting Operations Manager to integrate acquired entities into the Autodesk ecosystem in the most efficient and automated manner 

• Analyze accounting, reporting and process implications of acquired entities and provide guidance  

• Perform account monthly analysis and reconciliations for M&A revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable

• Prepare monthly journal entries for M&A revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable in accordance with ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers 

• Responsible for the preparation of quarterly audit schedules and prepare periodic reports to support internal and external reporting requirements 

• Implement and document processes and procedures as required including Sarbanes Oxley compliance 

• Support and participate in companywide projects for revenue accounting as well as order to cash cycles 

• Preparation of technical accounting memos (specifically, detailing the application of ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers)

Minimum Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

• At least 3 years of experience; combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred

• "Self-starter" with outstanding analytical, communication, and technical skills and a can-do attitude

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently 

• Experience with monthly and quarterly close activities, account reconciliations, problem resolution, audit schedule preparation and working with external and internal auditors 

• Experience performing contract analysis under ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers

• Experience documenting accounting conclusions under ASC 606-Revenue from Contracts with Customers

• Hands-on experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Rev Pro etc.)

Preferred Qualifications 

• Knowledge of ASC 805-Business Combinations

• CPA license

• Experience in the software industry

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Student Financial Services (SFS) team as an Associate Director of Compliance, Audit, and Training. In this critical role, you will work under the direction of the Director of Compliance, Audit, and Training. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that Student Financial Services complies with federal, state, and institutional policies.

To achieve this, you will research, develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures, ensuring they are effective in achieving compliance and meeting the needs of SFS leadership and operational teams. You will proactively advise and assist operational areas to align processes with compliance requirements. You will collaborate with other units to organize and deliver a comprehensive training program for SFS employees. You will conduct internal audits and risk assessments to ensure quality control of Title IV processes. Additionally, you will participate in federal and state on-site audit visits and assist with any corrective actions.

We are looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You should be a self-starter who can establish plans, manage timelines, and complete assignments with minimal supervision.

A successful candidate will possess an astute ability to interpret, apply, and communicate federal and state law and regulation. You prioritize accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail. You should be comfortable working independently and collaborating with others across the organization to achieve common goals.

This position is based in Boston, MA and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops and maintains SFS policy manuals, ensuring that they are effective in achieving compliance and meeting the needs of SFS leadership and operational teams.
• Proactively identifies and analyzes potential risks and exposures, providing clear guidance and hands-on assistance as needed to align processes and operations with compliance requirements.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Title IV and state laws and regulations, keeping leadership and staff informed.
• Serves as a compliance expert and resource on projects and initiatives.
• Collaborates with Customer Experience (CX) and Operational units to design and deliver a robust training program across all SFS service areas, for both new and existing staff.
• Conducts internal audits and presents results to Director of Compliance and SFS leadership.
• Informs the Director of Compliance and Dean of SFS of any issues that may compromise compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
• Participates in federal and state on-site audit visits and assists with any corrective actions.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of four years of experience in federal student aid programs, or compliance, audit, and training 
• Possess a basic understanding of legislative and regulatory processes, including how regulations are made and enforced.
• Excellent research and analytical skills, including the ability to locate and analyze relevant legal and regulatory information.
• Experience with large-scale systems in financial aid or student accounts preferred. 
• Excellent ability to communicate complex compliance requirements to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
• Ability to foster collaboration and rapport with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems.
• Proven proactive work style; adept at anticipating and addressing challenges.
