The Corporate Accounting Team is responsible for timely and accurate delivery of all day-to-day accounting and close activities at Corporate Finance, including general accounting, hedging, foreign exchange accounting, pension, benefits, intercompany, partnering with Enterprise Systems Team on ERP (SAP/Costpoint) accounting governance matters, and global statutory reporting.
This position will lead the Corporate Accounting team and will report to the Senior Director Corporate Finance (Corporate Controller).
Summary of the job duties include:
Accounting:
- Responsible for timely and accurate delivery of all day-to-day accounting and close activities at Corporate Finance, including general accounting, hedging, foreign Exchange Accounting, pension, benefits, intercompany and global statutory reporting
- Ensure adherence to Accounting Practices and Procedures (GAAP)
- Risk mitigation by ensuring presence and adherence to controls and compliance including SOX
- Ensure process documentation/procedures are developed and kept update at regular intervals
Team Management:
- Leading a high performing team of approx. 15 members, with 3 - 4 Managers as Direct Reports
- Manage, coach, and develop team; Ensure delivery of results through the team
- Back-up planning and ensure team members are cross trained for business continuity
Continuous improvements/Initiatives:
- Identify and implement process improvements/initiatives to bring efficiency, effectiveness, and cash flow savings
- Active participation and contribution to Corporate initiatives like EPR migration
Business Partnering:
- Develop and maintain trust-based relationship with Senior Stakeholders by contributing to their business goals
- Partner with Finance Leaders across the globe on several strategic initiatives
Qualifications, Experience and Behavioral requirements
- Accounting degree at an advanced level; CPA or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Work experience of 10-15 years in various F&A roles
- 3-4 years of management experience
- Experience with SAP, Costpoint, NextGen EPM, Hyperion HFM, Microsoft Dynamics (preferred)
- Should have worked in a SOX process environment with multi-national organization of repute
- Experience of working in a virtual environment and dealing with stakeholders at senior leadership level from diverse background and nationalities
- Strong interpersonal skills including communication (both verbal and written) and articulation and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Business savvy, ability to work with tight timelines and pressure
- Should display continuous improvement mindset and should have led process improvements; candidate with knowledge on lean / Six Sigma preferred
